Nice stone!
It's super easy to sharpen your G5 broad heads with this. Actually, any decent flat stone will work and you don't really NEED this one but it’s cool because it’s called The G5 Montec Flat Diamond Sharpener. This stone was an "Amazon recommended purchase" and I admit it, it was an impulse buy. It’s still a nice stone and it does work very well. The particularly nice and convenient feature about the stone is that each side of the stone is a different grit so you don't need two different stones to achieve the same result. It has a rough side and fine side. The stone is marked on each side with the grit number. I believe it’s 600 and 1200 grit. The design of the broad head itself is the true reason they are so easy to sharpen. The edge is ground flat so it allows you to lay the broad head flat on the stone which eliminates any human error.Sharpening these is ten thousand times easier than free hand sharpening a knife. All you have to do is lay your broad head flat on the stone and rub it back and forth, it's really that easy. You cannot mess this up, it's impossible. I marked the edges using a sharpie as recommended and this step cannot be avoided. You need to do this to ensure that you have removed all the high spots. New broad heads don't come completely flat from the factory and there will be high spots. It will initially take a little time to get them perfectly flat and sharp, however, after the initial sharpening, touch up sharpening will be much quicker. Use the 600 grit side until ALL the marker has been removed and all the edges are nice and shiny. When I say ALL the marker has to be removed I do mean all of it. If you can see any marker at all left anywhere on the edges then you still have high spots and you will never get these as sharp as you think they should be. The secret to getting hair popping results is to REMOVE ALL THE HIGH SPOTS. Okay, I think I've made that clear.Depending on your particular broad heads it may take you more or less time to remove the high spots but be patient and it will pay off in the end. Rotate the broad head about every 20 strokes or so. This will keep the removal of metal as close to equal as possible for each side. Keep rotating every 20 strokes until the high spots are gone.Use the 1200 grit side and rotate the broad head the same way but this time step down the amount of strokes for each side. I use 20 strokes per side and then 19, 18, 17… until I reach one stroke per side. A bit excessive? Yeah probably but I'm particular. I personally used a leather strop to finish the edges but this step isn't critical; the stone alone will sharpen to a hair shaving edge. The initial sharpening time invested per broad head was about 20 minutes. I had a lot of high spots on mine and I spent a lot of time on the 600 grit side. Again, unless you severely damage your broad head while hunting, touch up sharpening will be much quicker. Use water on the stone when you sharpen to help keep the stone surface lubricated and free of metal. You will achieve an edge faster if you use water vs not using it. Good luck and happy hunting!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT - Read my review
This product is advertised as a two sided stone - one side is supposed to be “900” for “roughing” and the other side is supposed to be “1200” for “honing.” When i unpackaged the stone, I noticed that the side stamped “HONE - 1200” had burs or something like welding slag all over the stone. This would have caused damage to my broad heads rather than sharpening them. So I sent an email to G5 Outdoors informing them of the defective product. I was shocked at the dishonest response I received the G5 representative. I am including a copy/paste of the response I received so that you all can see that I am not making this up. Notice how he claims that the side marked “HONE 1200” in not really the hone 1200 side and that it is not intended to “sharpen” the broad head. None of this makes any sense of course since all of the included instructions clearly state that one side is 900 grit and intended for “roughing” and the other side stamped “HONE - 1200” is intended for sharpening the broadhead. Here is the email response that I received:“usually the side of the stone that has the "HONE 1200" stamped on it is the backside and is not intended for any use. The side that has no stamp is the 1200 grit diamond side and is meant to re-hone not sharpen the broadheads edge. There is only 1 usable side on the stones and it is the side not stamped.Thank You,STU REXINTECH SUPPORTG5 OUTDOORSPRIMEQUEST”So the gist of what he is saying is that only one side is usable and that the “usable” side is not intended to sharpen the broadhead. If that is the case, what good is the product?

Didn't Work to sharpen my CS broadhead.
On my stone, the "600 Grit" was stamped on the wrong side. Still the surfaces are different enough that it was easy to feel which was the "rough" and which was the "smooth" side. But unfortunately, after following the instructions (which are very simple to understand), my Montec CS blades did not get very sharp. I couldn't easily slice a piece of paper, shave the hairs on my arm OR slice a taut rubber band with one pass, unless I did it VERY slowly. Unfortunately, I threw away the packaging and can't return it.

Small and didn't sharpen as well as I wanted
A lot smaller than I thought and it didn't sharpen my broadheads as well as I wanted. I noticed a small spot in the stone that would catch on my broadheads and they would jump a little. Sent back for a refund.

Does the job
It does what its supposed to do. Doesn't look like it will last very long though. We shall see.

The Montec broadhead is a piece of gear that people either love or hate
It works, plain and simple. The Montec broadhead is a piece of gear that people either love or hate. There doesn't seem to be much in-between. I love the Montec so the sharpener is wonderful.

Puts a good edge on Montec CS
Good at putting an edge back onto the Montec CS. But I couldn't get it 'razor sharp' with just the block alone. I had to take a carbide 'v' shaped sharpening bit to get a razor keen on the edge of the Montec CS. Still, a handy sharpener to have.

Five Stars
Works great, and it's small enough to have in my spare kit when hunting.
