Surprisingly easy all around.
Despite having no luck getting a response from tech support to a question after several attempts, the process so far has been fantastic. The instructions are a paltry single multi-fold sheet and I couldn't find a more thorough version anywhere. There's no explanation of the meaning of the option settings for the parameters, or even what the various parameters do. There doesn't seem to be agreement among manufacturers on terminology so reading more thorough instructions from other brands didn't help much. But by guess, luck, and intuition, I've finally got the ramp and torque compensation where I want it.The unit itself seems well made. Fit and finish is excellent. It's been working consistently now for 4 or 5 hours of operation with only one hiccup that I still don't understand, where it just stopped supplying power at ~80% of the max frequency, but power cycling it fixed it and it's been fine.My only ding, apart from nonexistent tech support, it the wiring fixturing. It's awful. There isn't a knock out in the case for a proper wire retainer, so you're left having to use the long narrow provided slot that isn't the right width for any strain relief. One side of which is only 3/16 wide, so provides almost no support for the wire anchor. This is a 10 gauge wire with heavy insulation dangling from poorly designed and very thin plastic. I have the same criticism of the same design but smaller set up for the optional port wires.Great first experience with VFD at a great price. We'll have to wait and see about durability.

Works Great.
Totally awesome. Easy hook up. Direction do need an update as some lines missing. Ground connector written in Chinese but directions show its proper location. Wire connectors large enough for 10 gage wire. Program ez to use. I give the vfd an AAA plus rating. Very happy with it.

Works well with some minor irritants - Supurb After-Sale Tech Support
The device works well and smoothly controls the speed. Nice braking stop and soft start. I had a few issues in setting some of the programming parameters and the Tech Support was Excellent! There is a little time delay due to different time zones but they gave me clear and correct instructions on which parameters needed setting for 60Hz in the U.S.A. (P001) and to increase the stall power a little to help when resawing large hardwood pieces. Once adjusted it was able to deliver the needed current to do heavy cutting and the VFD did not noticeably heat up or other wise cause distress. Best of all, the modified program settings will be retained even if there is a loss of power to the unit. A very good VFD for the price, RECOMMENDED.There were several minor things that they could change that would make it much better. Some of these have already been noted by others.- The speed knob is minuscule. Not a big problem for me but could be better- The stop button is also minuscule and close to the start button which is an issue. I have it installed on a bandsaw and an easy to see/reach stop button is important. I will later modify it with an external larger lever that pushes their small button.[UPDATE: Look at the uploaded photos of the larger stop button that I made. A simple flapper attached to a wood block that I screwed to the backer board by the VFD. Note that the rubber foot used to press the VFD stop button has been trimmed so the full height is right into the corner. I was going to add a small, weak tension spring but I find it is easier to be able to flip it out of the way to get to the start button and then flip it back in the ready position for stopping. Easy-Peasy fix and it works well, easy target to hit for stop.]- The terminal block is WAY too small. Maybe OK for small fans or something with 16 gauge wire but trying to connect 10-gauge wire was a challenge. I ended up having to grind down the sides of the eyelets to make them fit in the tiny slots in the terminal block and attach with the metric equivalent of ~8/32 screws. This needs to be made much larger!- There is no connection box or strain relief for the connection wires. There is just a rubber seal on the bottom that you slit to push the wires through. This leaves the wires hanging off the terminal strip which is a recipe for disaster with 230V. The leads hanging down are also exposed outside of the external sheath of the cable, also not good. I tweaked up some wire anchors with wire ties and I'll later make a shield box to go over it all. Again, including a terminal box on the bottom with standard hole for wire anchor and strain relief would be a great improvement. This could even be an add-on piece so the user could decide to use if needed.

Repeat buyer here, units work well
I have bought two of these units over the past 18 months and have found them to be quite a good value. Setup is straightforward for simple applications. Mine are for belt and surface grinding machines, 2 and 1 horsepower respectively. These are fairly low torque applications and the loads are intermittent. My recommendation is that you over-spec the VFD if you have concerns about loading. The only parameter that I absolutely needed to change was the frequency - 60Hz here in the US, not the 50Hz default. You may appreciate that this unit is supplied with the extension cable and remote mounting for the control panel. The last unit I bought arrived with a cracked case which was a safety issue for my installation. The seller graciously sent a replacement unit. It took a couple tries to contact them but they did respond and they did what they said they would do. So I’m satisfied with the units and with the customer support.

VFD works. More buttons than most would want.
Works great, lots of the usual options you would expect from a VFD. I used this on my Bridgeport mill 3phase motor and it works fine. Very difficult to understand the manual for basic setup of modes of operation. And I have installed dozens of VFDs with proper English manuals. So I know how they should work, but the manual leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully the manual includes full parameter tables with "better" explanations. Emailed company hoping for a better PDF manual and never got a reply. Found manual on google with some searching that appears to be for this model, which like all Chinese garbage, is just a rebrand of one mega factory product. The included paper manual and PDFs are the same. Unfortunately many bad reviews are from people unfamiliar with setting up VFDs.
