Dream come true. I got a thought that SURELY someone had invented a sturdy, one handed electric letter opener. I wanted it to open and recyclejunk mail at home.It is so satisfying to run an envelope thru this machine and have it come out ready to sort, shread or pay. There are times when part of the top of envelopes are not completely open but that is usually due to how I am feeding it thru the machine.It took some time to get used to pressing the envelope into the machine to get it to run correctly. There is an arrow pointing towards the machine that means "press the envelope towards the machine". Again, the pressure is the key.It feels sturdy in an unsturdy world and I like that. Thank you.

Right after the return window closed, this stops working as well. Sometimes I have to feed the envelope through two or three times to get the envelope fully open. I am handicapped with limited use of my hands. I bought this for personal use because I have trouble opening envelopes. I’ve bought the smaller, hand-held ones and they eventually jam up. So I bought this hoping it would be sturdier. I only open two or three envelopes a day and I often have to feed them through more than once. Luckily, I don’t have much else to do during the day, so feeding it through multiple times keeps me busy for a few extra minutes.

Sturdy. Does not vibrate or move down a table. Worked well for a few years. Then the letters weren’t being opened consistently. Then it froze and nothing I did helped. It looked normal. I opened the case but had no luck fixing it. I am a bit steamed because it was expensive and had a good name. It looks and feels great, the weight of it, and I don’t want to throw it away. But I should.

Although it is a little loud, it does the job quite well once you figure out that you should let the envelop go through without trying to guide it. I open around 400 envelopes a week at the office and it has saved me a lot of time not having to use the traditional, hand letter opener. Would certainly recommend it.

This letter opener was a failure right out of the box. It did not open an envelope completely, often running off the edge or leaving a groove in the envelope. Some envelopes it just left a groove all the way across the top with no cutting action at all. the cutting wheels spin so fast it jerks the envelope from the feed tray. The envelopes we tried to open were standerd business envelopes, nothing fancy. Pass this one up.

Makes open the tons of mail I receive a breeze, best of all - no paper cuts! Be sure to read in full the manual and how to "tap down" the envelope contents and you're off and running. Keeps mail from piling up from having to do it by hand. Don't overuse though (ie 10 solid minutes at a time) as you'll burn the the gears and machine out. Price was incredible!

Being an amputee I tend to fall behind on getting my mail opened, this is very helpful for me because I don't have to wait on anyone I can do it myself now

Crap, use a steak knife it is much betterCuts crooked, does not cut right through, piece of cheap garbage

The product seems to work well. Letters are opened quickly and cleanly.Seller claims to be Canadian, but product was shipped from the USA very slowly and caused an additional $33 customs and import charge.
