Quiet, but unsealed.
Sizing is important in buying a hamster wheel. Their back should be perfectly straight. A Chinese or Syrian requires a 12", but usually a Campbell's or Winter White can use this size also. Here, my Chinese, shows perfect posture. Go large! This wheel is unsealed, and will be ruined with urine very quickly if you don't also buy a hamster-safe water-based paint-on acrylic. I applied 3 coats of Plastikote to the inside areas, base and outer edge. It dried fast, and spent $6.50 on the sealant to protect this wheel. ***My Hamster Loves This Wheel.***

my ham used this wheel for one day and the next morning there were blood tracks. this broke my heart. everything else about the wheel was good, i liked the design and it was silent, but none of that is ever worth the harm of a pet. his paws were raw after one night of use. DO NOT GET THIS...
