It's no secret that this franchise is great. I didn't see the movies before picking them up and thought like I do with everything that it would be awful (thats just how I think so as to avoid disappointment) and to say I liked them would not be doing justice. They may to be the most scientifically accurate movies around and there are some continuity errors and such but there is a certain charm about these features which disarms you and some of the scenes remain tense and exiting even after my 3rd viewing and with its memorable characters and fantastic comedy elements you really couldn't do much better and the 3rd movie almost uniquely doesn't feel like it exists just to pad the franchise it is a good end to events with significant payoff.Sure, some of the effects are laughable by today's standards and there are a few elements which aren't explained properly or are a little to convenient to the plot but those nitpicks are... well they're just nitpicks because this is Back to the Future and Back to the Future is good.

Brilliant value box set
This boxset is amazing value. The films are all very good and have been recounted numerous times so i will just say that the transfer to Blu-Ray is good aith the sound and picture quality really adding a great deal to the experience, particularly back to the future 3 in my opinion where the western setting lends itself to high definition. The extras package is impressive but not exhaustive, with many interesting things to find out about the production of these films.Mainly though it is the films themselves that make this a must have package. Back to the future is a stone cold classic from the 80's, and the other 2 are highly entertaining. These are the films to put on during a rainy sunday afternoon and watch with the family.

A classic trilogy
Back to the Future follows the adventures of high school kid Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and his friend, the eccentric scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), as they travel through time in their famous DeLorean. The film is set in the fictional California town of Hill Valley and across the trilogy we get to see four different time periods - 1885, 1955, 1985 and 2015.All 3 films are absolutely brilliant and are fantastically entertaining, with a fast-paced plotline, witty scriptwriting, top-class acting and plenty of action sequences. The time travelling element is great, and is essential to the plot without becoming overly complicated. There is so much going on, with visual gags, sub-plots, and different references to previous (or future) events that you'll find that on the second or even the third watch you pick up things you missed the first time around. The DVDs contain hours of extras including an excellent making-of documentary, and you definitely get your money's worth in terms of content.A must-own trilogy for any movie fan, highly recommended.

You built a time machine, from a deLorean?
Back to the Future was a genre defining film in my youth and spawned two worthy sequels with 2 & 3 being made at the same time (bit of movie trivia there!). I'm not going to review the films themselves as a majority of readers would have seen them already. The blu-rays themselves are visually excellent with a flawless video transfer. This is certainly the best way to watch these films bar none, even the original looks like it was made last month due to the excellent clarity. Audio wise the films use Dolby HD soundtracks which also help revitalise the films with crystal clear dialogue and background effects. There is minimal sound thrown to the back speakers, but this is to be expected with this type of film. There are myriad extras included on the blu rays, including some very informative 'making of' documentaries and interviews.A classic film series and an absolute bargain to boot this is the best way to experience these films.

Great Scott!
I don’t buy every film that I like on Blu-Ray, they have to be special. And the Back to the Future films are just that, special. Arguably a perfect trio of films; never remade, simply left to be what they are. If you haven’t seen these, or have people in your lives who haven’t seen them, then you simply must. This is pure movie magic.

But who decided on the disc printing?
There is no need to go into the films as such as these have been pretty well covered. The quality of the blu ray transfer is superb though, you can certainly notice a touch of make-up here and there. The difference between this and the original scenes found within the extras, you can see the amount of work that has gone into this transfer. It is a bit of a shame that with the tech available that the team didn't do much to hide the mapping outline from the car in flight at night, much like the original release of star wars where you can see the out of contrast block surrounding the ships. A minor gripe but there you go.The bluray features are lovely. Not up to the quality of the film specific 'MUTHUR MODE' of the Alien Anthology but it is a stylish looking menu if a little corporate. All the features can be accessed in film and if you want to see the theatrical trailer, once it has finished it'll return you to the last position of the film you were up to. You can also access the in-film trivia mode etc. from the film so in that respect the disc is a pleasure to use.The sleeve for this box-set comes with the increasingly popular foil finish which does look really nice and is not noticeable from the Amazon image so it was a treat to get more than I expected even at first glance. My biggest gripe is the physical disc itself. I recently sold the DVD trilogy so I have no comparison to make but the images on the discs themselves are pretty shocking. They are boring and of really low quality. BTTF pt.III is by far the worst, it looks as though it is some sort of pirate copy shocker. Such a shame when the collection that has been put together has clearly been a labour of love.As the films are of legendary status I cannot knock a star for the discs that will be hidden in the machine or box 99% of the time but it was a shame.
