Young high school fellow who wants to style hair but good tools were out of his budget.I researched good basic tools, and this was on a top ten list.So I got it for a gift, relayed via his dad, my friend.His dad called me, and said the son wanted to talk to me.Yeah, the kid was over the moon about this set. Loved it.AND the price was great.

I’m not a pro but I do cut my own hair. My last pair gave out after 20 years and so I’ve been looking for a nice, affordable pair of scissors that are not too large. I’m very pleased with these. They come in a nice sturdy case for protection and comfort inserts for the fingers, as well as a small comb. Perfect for travel. They feel very durable and I look forward to many years of use in the future. The price was perfect for me.

I was a Haircutter at one time and am. a bit picky about my shears. I love the sharp smoothness of the way it cuts through hair. Some people complained about the thumb being too big. Not if you know how to cut hair. You need a wide thumb space for manipulating the scissors in different directions around the head. I would have loved the feel of the shears as it cuts through hair. I have medium sized hands, but the thumb space is too small for me. I’m a woman and 5’ 3”. I can’t imagine a man, using it to cut hair.

The scissors came with everything as pictures, the color and size are the same. I like the size of the scissors as they fit my hand well. I do believe it is lacking on sharpness not as sharp as I thought they were going to be. It comes with a rubber grip which I like as it feels comfortable.

If I tell people my straight razors are hollow ground, most would not have a clue what that meant. With all the electronic technology today, we often forget about designs of the past that work. When I read the description and reviews of these shears, not once did I see anyone say the blades are "hollow ground." That means the blades, instead of being flat like many shears, are ground concave on the back side. This allows the only point of contact to be the edge, which are quite sharp. Therefore, they cut very well.They are rather heavy. I personally like that. They feel like they are from the same period as a '49 Buick, not an electric puddle jumper. If I were using them all day, would that be an issue. Probably not. What, I lift weights and then complain because my scissors are too heavy? Wah. Wah. Wah.The case is very nice, with a magnetic closure.It is one of those times when I bought something, and it actually turned out to be better than expected.
