This item works perfectly fine but does not meet my needs. I found it impossible to find the exact clock mechanism I needed. So I settled for this item. What this item did well is provide the correct sizes to fit my clock. There product descriptions were excellent in that respect. However, that being said, I was unable to find a clock movement mechanism with a ticking second hand. This items has a sweeping second hand that works fine, but I would have preferred a ticking second hand if I could find one. I was able to find the right design and size of hour hand, minute hand and second hand, but not in the color I wanted. This item only offered it in gold when I really needed black. I was able to ascertain this information up front through the product description so this was not unexpected. Lastly the one thing that threw me for a loop was the strong recommendation that you use a non-alkaline battery. Wow, it has been awhile since I have had a non-alkaline carbon battery around the house. This required me to go to my local Ace Hardware Store. Ooops, not so fast. I found out my Ace Hardware did not carry non-alkaline batteries. Luckily nearby I was saved by my local Dollar Store. They came through with the non-alkaline carbon battery. Like I said this item works well and was relatively straight forward to install. I just wish they would offer the same sizes with a ticking second hand and black hour, minute and second hands. Oh and with my older eyes, I was unable to read the directions without a magnifying glass. I cannot comment on the mechanism's accuracy because I just put it together today.

There isn't much quality on the market for this type of item and this is no exception. If you measure correctly for a replacement, then most of your problem will be the assembly of the hands on the shaft.If you do it correctly the time is quite accurate.

Missing the nuts that secure it to the clock but the one from my replaced one worked.

I needed this clock movement mechanism to replace one that would not keep time in a nice wooden clock that I have had for a very long time. The mechanism was very easy to install. Just be mindful that the mechanism does not use regular alkaline batteries; it uses carbon zinc (AA) batteries. Other than that, I installed the mechanism myself. It is very quiet; the second hand does not have the ticking sound. The second hand cycles very smoothly.

Easy to assemble and the fact that there were 4 types of different length hands made this my choice for a long shaft application. I fixed two clocks and it took about and hour to do both. That included disassembly also.

The clock movement has a round shaft. But the hands did not fit because some had hexagon holes and others had oblong holes. Could not force them onto the round shaft. Had to use hands from a different clock kit. I like the smooth movement of the second hand vs click click that some movements make.

Thrilled with this purchase! Easy to install AND it's silent!I tried some mechanisms from a craft store - they were noisy, poor quality and very hard to install. These were super easy. I trimmed the hands to fit one of my clocks, which was also easy. This is a great product and a great price. Thank you, Emoon!
