it is alittle hard to see because of the screen glare. but other wise it is great

This product is what it says. It has the light and is very visible. Its also packed well and has helpful instructions. It also has the stylus on the left side so you can use it but not lose it. I'm a bit addicted to sudoku puzzles and just received my electronic version. I hope to use it for many years - no need for pencil, erasers, etc. Just pure enjoyment. I would rate it a number 5 but I haven't had a chance to really play with it since I just received it.

I got this for my mother to replace her previous machine when it broke (couldn't find the same model any more). She tried several before, but they were not to her liking, either too small or too bulky.According to her, this one would have constituted a suitable replacement except for one issue: Some of the places on the far right column do not respond to the pen. I am not sure if this is a design flow or simply a one-off manufacturing issue. If I am sure that a replacement game would be working fine then I wouldn't hesitate in getting her a new one.

I am very disappointed. Even with maximum illumination, the numbers are hard to read. This Sudoku turns off automatically after 2 minutes, and you cannot continue a game when you use the pause, turn it off, and later turn it on. The puzzle is lost. Also, you cannot study the puzzle for more than a minute or two, before it automatically turns off. For me, this purchase was a waste of money. I have stopped using it, and gone back to my old manual one on which some of the numbers have been worn off.

I have been playing this game for 20 years or more. This game is great for keeping your mind active.

I was skeptical after reading some of the published reviews. However, I am very pleased by this product. Of course everything new takes some time to get used to. The worst experience after getting the package was opening the plastic encasement (not easy on 78+ year old fingers crippled by arthritis). After about 30 minutes of getting the feel, I am very glad I bought this game. The #s are big, the backlighting is helpful, and, I even like the use of AAA batteries that I can change myself. Unlike some other reviews, I had no problem with the stylus, the switches, or other gripes that I read. I purchased the Franklin Sudoku hand-held game from Amazon in Nov. 2007, and still have it working quite well (just had my 2nd battery replacement). Now I have 2 working Sudoku games! They are different, but I like them both. This will allow me to use my brain and logic to keep active mentally.

I got this for my dad for Christmas. it is getting harder for him to find these books so I thought this was a great answer. He said it was OK but hard for him to see (maybe that is a bit of his age too).

The Mega Sudoku is an excellent buy and arrived in first class condition. I did have to by an exceptionally small Phillips Screwdriver to replace the batteries. This is an extra nuisance when I travel with replacement batteries. I never know whether or not replacement batteries are easily available when the machine runs out of power. Note no allowance was made for fastening the stick or tapping device to the screen when travelling a small cloth bag with string closure would have been helpful.The smaller Sudoku model which I lost years ago was also excellent for travel and your pocket. I am still looking for an old model of the smaller type to add to the Mega model which of course is much better for general use.
