I chose this model because of its trigger like design and also because of reviews
I got this to check the idle speed on my diesel engines. The tachometers seemed to be inaccurate so I needed something to verify and give me a starting point to adjust them. I chose this model because of its trigger like design and also because of reviews. Getting down between two running diesels is fairly tight in my boat. I was able to put on the reflective tape and with this gun type design get a nice shot at the crank balancer. Got a great reading on both engines and now know my tachs are off by 100 or so rpm.

Easy to aim and read
Excellent little tachometer. I already have another brand with which I am generally satisfied. I chose this for use in my woodworking shop because of the position of the display screen. With the screen oriented perpendicular to the beam, I can more easily read the speed of my table mounted routers and adjust them accordingly. The accuracy seems excellent; controls are convenient. I have also found the holster style pouch more convenient than the zippered style.

Met and actually exceeded expectations #1 (it read's correctly past it's suggested range)
I chose it because I had already read up on the manufacturer which I do before any purchase. It has a back light feature which is necessary with any equipment used in HVAC (attics / basements etc). For the price and it's construction I feel it's a good buy. When you look at what these units costed just a few years ago to now and being able to maintain accuracy that's what I was looking for.

I bought this because I liked the design
I bought this because I liked the design, which let me view the readout and the target simultaneously. Surprisingly most other tachs don't work that way. I'm pleased with the performance and recommend it.

You can trust these readings
Tested it on a known RPM, and it was SPOT ON. So many tachometers are wildly out of spec. This one provides reliable results.
