Jazz Guitar Chord Creativity: A Complete Guide to Mastering Jazz Guitar Chords Anywhere on the Fretboard

This book contains a lot of mistakes/errors
I'm usually a big fan of Fundamental Changes books, and have purchased several of them. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through this book, and the amount of errors/mistakes in this one are almost too much to bear. About once every 2 or 3 pages there are chord diagrams that are incorrectly labelled. Tabs and notation also often don't match the chord diagrams. While it seems like this book can be useful, it is in need of some serious editing.

So far a great book
I own lots of books on guitar. Most of them are pretty difficult to follow and put into practice. I got this book and read the whole thing before I started using it. I like the approach and I believe I can and will learn a lot and that it will be another breakthrough in my playing. It appears laid out well and after completing the first chapter and actually being able to change the chords and understand the voicings I am impressed. I am excited. I'm off to a good start.https://www.amazon.com/Joseph-Alexander-Voicings-Modern-Paperback/dp/B00RWSSYII/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=joseph+alexander+drop+2+voicings&qid=1589217758&sr=8-3

Raise your comping to the next level.
I've only just begun this book, but I can see that it will be very helpful in terms of chord chemistry, rhythm guitar and the blending of chords and single notes. The author accommodates jazz guitar in both a solo and ensemble context, and the audio tracks are convenient and effective guides. Thanks!

You will have to work hard....but it sure pays dividends
definately worth a 5 star rating! Another fantastic book from Fundamental Changes. As a teacher of guitar one must always practice what we preach and so any improvement of knowledge or technique is a worthwhile pursuit. No doubt this will book will challenge the best players but learning to approach your playing from a new perspective is always great for re-igniting your passion. Very easy to understand and apply.

One of the best comping books I've ever seen
If you already know your basic voicings, this book should take your comping one step further. It shows you how to create a great base for the tune you're about to play in a cool and modern-sounding way. It's definitely the guide I'd like to crack into for a couple of months! Then we'll see what happens.

Good book but to many errors
Book was helpful to increase chord knowledge but had too many diagram errors.

Fingerboard chordal navigation and voicing possibilities well explained.
Great book. Explains use of chordal fingering patterns, that are multi chordal; opens up fingerboard understanding and navigation possibilities in the context of jazz changes. Work is required but the payoff is there.

Awesome book with excellent examples to colour up you're arrangements
This is a superb book, I have personally been looking for a book like this for many years and this excells all expectations.I have only completed chapter 1 which teaches you all chords (m7th type chords, A7 alterd dominents and M7th type chords) in a two five one sequence. It takes some time to get familiar with the new shapes but its probably the most important element in the book as you can't progress to the next chapter until you are fluent with the new shapes. As you progress through the book there ars some tasty sequences, the final chapters gives you examples and ideas how to put everything you've learned into practice, some really lovely examples here. This is and gives you excellent tutoring in playing jazz, it's well explained and covers all the theory and easy to follow. I cant emphasize how good this book is, its very inspiring with lovely chord sequences, if you want to learn jazz this will blow your mind.

Great book, inspiring and does what it says!
I'll come clean - I'm a fan of the Fundamental Changes books, so I always approach with a positive mindset and high expectations, and this one has not disappointed me so-far. I've given it five stars based on the two chapters I've worked through to date - I guess that may change, but to be honest I've already learned at least a couple of ideas I can incorporate into my playing. As ever the book is laid out clearly and takes a step by step approach to working through more creative chords and as ever it's best used in tandem with the other books in the series for the complete picture. For background on my opinions I'm a guitarist of 44 years and have taught music for the past 15 years, so I'm always looking for practical, easy to follow and applicable resources, that inspire not just the student, but me. Fair play warning: you do need to follow the step by step approach to get the best out of this and the other books - as I tell my students, 'music is a doing activity', and although it's very helpful to read through it first, you need to sit down and work through the material to get real results. Thanks again guys!

Can be good for someone but...
but not for me. I have some jazz school background, and when I saw this book I thought this will contain whole theory and on top of this, will be something new, creative. Unfortunately, this book is not going that deep that I though. Is ok, is teaching you what you can play to sound good, but why? where is this sound come from?So is just OK

I’ve actually been using this book!
Thought it might be too elementary, but have enjoyed playing through the examples/exercises and have picked up some really helpful ideas.A concise well presented book, without unnecessary waffle. Maybe it could have more content; covering more quartal voicings, and using open strings to creating close intervals or drones within voicings, etc. but still a satisfactory purchase for a little inspiration.

Worth having!
I bought this book to compliment Jazz guitar lessons, and it has proved invaluable! It's very straightforward and I was never left scratching my head. Suggestion - along with this book, have a look at all things Jazz guitar on YouTube; you can find out about things like arpeggios, Jazz chords and all sorts.
