Get This, WORTH the money!
OK so I read all the reviews and hesitated before buying this. I'm SO glad I got it. I live in Olympia, WA with rocky soil, roots, you name it. I am 51 with much less upper body strength then I would like. I learned about trenching shovels with fiberglass handles from a random youtube video. What a game changer! Yes it's a teeny bit weird to have such a narrow shovel because you make several motions to get the dirt into the bucket from your hole. However WOW you can actually DIG the entire hole with this shovel! It's so doable now. I used to be unable to take even one or two regular spade digs and then have to resort to small hand tools to brute force my way into making a hole with the rocks of all sizes in the way. I even used this to dig out steps so I could use pavers to make steps into a slope. I'm more of a badass now in the garden, and a bit less of a martyr. I deserve this shovel. You deserve this shovel.

My Second One
I used my first one of these for years. I needed a second one and bought it without hesitation. Not only is it the best trenching shovel out there but it is great for digging holes to plant trees and also just digging in the extremely rocky soil we have here.

Trench Shovel
I wanted a trench shovel like the guys that put in my irrigation system. Got it and used it to transplant flowers - it's perfect it scoops the plant without taking too much soil with the plant. This shovel is sturdy and I won't break the handle by overloading it.If you have to dig a trench to bury a wire or to bury a pvc pipe for irrigation it's great for that too. This is ideal for electricians and plumbers. One shovel that does it all and will last a lifetime.

Disappointing Design
My review has nothing to do with the quality of this tool. The picture made it look like this tool's handle and space end were all straight, when in fact there is a bend in the shovel which creates an angle...presumably for greater leverage. We are trying to replace a 20+ year-old trenching shovel which is completely straight and can't find one anywhere anymore. May have to send this one back. PLEASE include a better image or at least text to indicate that there is an angle on this tool. Such a disappointment :(
