101235-33 - Goodman OEM Furnace Replacement Limit Switch

Had one of these go bad on a furnace. Told by everyone these never ever go bad. Well I had one that opened up a couple minutes after furnace would light. No flame spillage or flame rollout was visible. Replaced with this one, furnace works like new again. Saved me hundreds of dollars as everyone wanted to replace furnace burner or entire furnace unit. This furnace had two such switches and the other was fine. I could swap positions and the same one kicked out regardless of position.Seriously several long time HVAC people said it was a waste of time to replace these. None had ever seen one go bad in over 100 years of combined experience. But it can happen.Prior to replacing search for Furnace Flame Roll out. Watch some youtube vids if you aren't experienced about this. If you have obvious flame rollout due to dirty furnace heat exchanger flues or cracked heat exchangers this won't help. And those could be dangerous conditions that leak carbon monoxide into your home. But I couldn't get anyone to even investigate this they just wanted to do a several hundred dollar replacement.

Photo of switch different from product received, but switch seems to work. If it's an update or improvement on the OEM switch advertised, this should be made clear to the customer. Also, Amazon failed to say USPS was being used for shipment. USPS doesn't deliver to street addresses in my town. Consequently, there was a delay because I assumed they would use a commercial carrier, which of course does bring the item to your door. I didn't give a P.O. box number. If you say this is no biggie, consider that the item is a critical part for a furnace, and there was snow on the ground.

We keep having issues with our furnace quitting due to the pilot light going out and found out it was due to a furnace issue blowing these out. These have worked great for my dad to preform the fix without having to pay someone to come and do it. I keep a couple on hand at all times so we do not go without heat.
