It teaches you all you need to know about communications in English in a health care system.
This is a great investment for those foreign health care professionals who wants to get into any English-speaking health care system, specially those who need to pass Occupational English Test (OET). This is the result of so many years of efforts and experience in teaching, coaching and helping Refugee Doctors, written and edited by lovely Dr Nickless and dear Norman. I have had a chance of being their student for a while, and I can say it is the essence of their full course being summarized and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend it to all foreign doctors who like to practice in English language. It can not only be useful in preparation for OET exam but also it is very helpful in learning the literature of how to communicate with patients or other health care professionals in English.

It made a massive positive difference!
I just want to say that this book made the whole difference in my 2nd attempt.Writing has always been my setback. I used to use other sources in which they provide you with a fixed structure for each paragraph and then you have to put the information from the case notes into them! This simply doesn't work. Because in the exam you need some sort of flexibility. This book provided me with exactly what I needed. It shows how to interpret case notes, group them in paragraphs, structure the whole letter in a readable comprehensive and flexible way rather than robotic rigid one.Had I known about it before my first attempt, I would have passed my OET long time ago and saved my money and effort.Highly recommended π

A must have for doctors taking OET
I am a teacher of medical English to refugee doctors who are preparing for OET. Our doctors find writing challenging and so a book focussing on this area is particularly welcome. The book contains a fully comprehensive course with a range of writing tasks accompanied by model answers and help with technical aspects of writing, useful vocabulary and grammar exercises and exam advice. I thoroughly recommend this book.

Don't be put off by the presentation!
The content of this little book and exercises are really good, even if the kindle version is a little clunky. I recommend this book to all OET teachers and their students. It gives students the scaffolding that they require and slowly builds their ability to construct effective texts by carrying out useful tasks and analysing authentic models.

A work book for English writing
This book written by an experienced EFL teachers and a British general practitioner is a practical tool for health care professionals preparing for the Occupational English test (OET). The exercises have been tried and tested with a group of refugee doctors and they are ideally suited to those who wish to work within the UK National Health Service.
