Huh???
This is the most ridiculous gadget ever and totally disregards common sense. Its a health risk!If someone's worried about being overweight you are looking at heavy bags of around 40 pounds. How on earth are you meant to lift that weight off the ground keeping the scale horizontal. And that to for a few seconds. I feel my back is going to break. Because the strap is so flimsy and slim, it offers no support so here you are lifting a 40 lbs suitcase (not a duffel bag) which is swaying as it is being held up by one tiny strap so all the weight falls on one point. Unless the swinging stops, the machine cannot take a reading. Its like no thought was put into its design and the laws of physics are being challenged here.Edit: I am returning this to amazon but if I wasn't I would smash it violently, as it is so awful and now my lower back hurts. its just not worth damaging your back. if you have to use a bathroom scale, then do that. Please note that most of the positive reviews come from those who were sent this product to review. Friends of the owner? And some from people who haven't even tried it! So read the reviews carefully, with a pinch of salt and don't go by the rating. I did and it was a mistake. I should have tried one of the others available. Now its too late as i am travelling today. Yes, I am using the bathroom scale which is not bad and gives a consistent reading each time. Just make sure your's is accurate. Also if you go on youtube and see the official video, you will notice that a duffle bag is being used in the demo. And that too by a tall, built guy. The owner of the company. To understand the ridiculousness of the design, before buying this, take a doubled up piece of thread and hang a tote or bag full of groceries on it. Consider two things: 1) does the bag EVER stop swinging? 2) how hard is it to hold the bag up by such a thin support ? 3) does the amount of pressure on the thread ( and weight on your hand) vary depending on which part of the strap the thread rests upon?I think this will give you an idea of how bad the design is and the issues you will face with this gadget. At best you can use this to weigh your evening bag.It makes me really angry that such a daft device is being promoted in ways I don't think are 100% genuine. Sorry to say.

Easy to lift, accurate, and no problems with battery life
I took this luggage scale on an international trip and it worked just as advertised. I've used luggage scales before, but all of those made you read the weight off of the side, meaning that you really needed two people to get an accurate measurement (one to pick up the suitcase and the other to read the weight). With this luggage scale, I was able to pick up my suitcase and see the weight without needing any help. As a short woman (~5ft), I worried that I would end up having to cover up the display in order to pick up my suitcase (40lbs). It turns out that the design of the handle allowed me to pick up the suitcase without covering up the display with no problems.Luggage scales are worthless if they don't tell you the correct weight, but this one was right on the mark. I used a bathroom scale before I left for my trip to double check the weight, and the measurements were very close. At the airport, it matched the airline's scale's reading very closely as well, so I won't need to worry about being charged for an overweight bag on future trips.I read another reviewer's complaint that the on switch turned on repeatedly during travel, draining the battery and rendering the scale unusable. I worried about this, and I put some clothes around the scale as padding. That seemed to work because the scale still had plenty of battery left when I arrived, and it still had plenty of battery around 10 days later, after being repacked multiple times and after traveling around on a bumpy bus almost every day.All in all, I would highly recommend this luggage scale.

Fast, precise, great hook design, works well.
I got this scale for a college statistics project, where I had to weigh 60 different backpacks. It worked very well.Pros:* Precise: Measures in 0.1 lbs / 50 g intervals, double that of most other luggage scales in this price range (they're usually 0.2 lbs)* Fast: Real-time weight display as you put something on, and it locks the final weight within 2-3 seconds* Unique hook design allows you to put the strap around any sort of handle and then clip it back onto itself. This gives you MUCH more room to work with than other designs that use an integrated fishing-hook type thing.* Easy one-button use.* Very ergonomic design. Easy to hold and your hand won't block the display when in use.Cons:* Annoying beeping when it turns on and after every measurement* It's a little hard to toggle between measurements units (pounds vs grams) because there is only one button. You hold it down in some special pattern, but I could never quite memorize it. I would've preferred a separate button or a switch on the side.* No on/off switch means that the unit is constantly turning on and off (and beeping!) when it's in my bag and things are pushing against it.All in all in excellent product, and one I chose after examining about a dozen different designs. I hope they fix the minor flaws in a future version.
