Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable

Bethany and her family are lifelong friends of my husband and I, and we were lucky enough to host them for 10 days during the filming of this movie. What a great time! Aaron Lieber's choice to present Bethany as a whole woman with her husband, baby and full life, made the thrust of this film even more memorable. It was truly a feast for the senses to watch and not just because I have the privilege of being called "Aunty" by this amazing young woman. The surfing was epic, and the story something everyone could be uplifted by. Kudos to Bethany and Aaron!

I love Bethany, but the document was a little long for the average viewer without a surfing background. I was hoping for more encouraging/inspiration words from her (and more camera time directly with her, interviewing her, talking to her about heart issues and what's life like as a mom, wife, etc.). The document was mostly about surfing events and that was about it. Lots of interviewing OTHER people ... not much from her directly. Kind of disappointing.

This movie was really great. It's a documentary. The story is honest and heartfelt. Really amazing. It's great for the whole family, too. If you have young kids, they don't show the shark attack and they only talk about it as an event, they don't play up the horror of it, though the emotions are clearly heavy. I was really inspired. I was also pleased that Hamilton's faith was obvious in the movie. It's not a "Christian" branded movie, per se but her faith is part of her story and clearly a major source of her strength. I'd watch it again.

Let me start off by saying i absolutely love Bethany Hamilton. I love the story, i love the empowering, incredible attitude towards life that she is and the fact that she shatrers all preconceived notions about her and surfers in general. This is a great film that i watched in theaters three times. That being said, im extremely disappointed. Just got this in the mail today and while im super pumped, im also a bit disappointed. I was talking about this movie for about a year and when it came out in select theatres this summer i saw it three times. The film was beautifully shot. This production saddens me though. They didnt release a blu ray version. Digital and dvd only. I am a physical media guy. I hate digital because if your internet or computer goes down then you lose your investment. I feel like theyve specifically ignored a large part of the audience by ignoring the blu ray medium. Dvd is subpar and has been for about ten years now. It is an antiquated platform. While releasing in dvd and digital allows them to get the film out very cheaply to a mass audience, it doesnt take into account those of us that have spent the time, energy and finances to build good entertainment setups. Producing a blu ray versus a dvd is not a huge difference in production costs in 2019. Blu rays are superior in literally every category. Visuals, audio layering, sound quality, space for extras, etc. You can pack a hell of a lot more data on a blu ray disk as well, so interviews, behind the scenes, bloopers, commentary could also be included. Im still excited to have the film in my library of over 30 surfing films but i am disappointed. Bethany Hamilton is such an amazing woman and person and inspiring to so many people. i can only hope a pressing is released on blu ray in the future. The presentation on this dvd format is lacking in audio and visual quality. The film in theaters was incredible. The dvd not so much.

Fantastic movie! Is a great story for people of all ages and is a good family movie too. Bethany Hamilton is a name everyone should be familiar with by now, and if you're not you need to watch this! I act watched it with my mom & she had watxhed it several times and then bought it as she always says how inspiring it is and how it can chan her mood!🤣👌 I was a bit surprised that this movie wasn't bigger than it was in the movies as I know it only played in some locations. Probably because they didn't have countless millions in advertising to spend. Anybody unfamiliar with this should watch the preview now and then understand that the movie is gonna be alot better than it even looks. Is a movie you can watch at any age and still alw love it. Fantastic movie and fantastic story about an amazing girl. The movie "Soul Surfer" was based on the events that happened during part of this movie. This is her story of her actual life: growing up surfing with her family and friends, the shark attack, her struggle afterwards, and her overcoming everything to be one of the best surfers in the world. All with one arm. If you were smart enough to watch Soul Surfer then this is a must watch. Inspiring story whether you're religious or not... 👌

It's tough to write a good-enough review, but I guess it's "possible." :) I'm a huge fan of Bethany Hamilton, and seeing her in this documentary, seeing her face & hearing her voice, family members & loved ones' support, her zeal and sheer strong athletic work ethic, bravery and empathy. It's all so beautiful. I watched it two nights in a row with my family. & I'm not a surfer, but of course I want to try it out now. This film really grounds you in the principle that it is possible to pursue your passion. There's such a beauty to this film that captures the stoke and love in her life. I think it was well done! Now, encore!

Honest and inspiring, this movie tells an incredible story of how God can use anything for good. Bethany is a first rate athlete and I believe there is more beautiful surfing to come from her.

We’ve been following Bethany’s story since we learned about her tragic incident on the news. She is such a mature Christian at such a young age. We can tell that her foundation is strongly built on Jesus Christ because she knows and constantly and naturally demonstrates her ability to keep living God’s plan for her life to the fullest no matter what happens to her in this life. She knows that this time on earth is just a tiny piece of her existence and that God’s promises will come true soon when she continues the rest of her existence, which will never end, in her new body with all of her limbs forever.I wish this DVD had much more of her personal every day life with her husband and child and family life as well as all of the surfing. She is such a great inspiration!

Very interesting documentary with brilliant surfing from Bethany. If you have seen Soul Surfer you’ll love this.

Film qui retrace bien le parcours de Bathany Hamilton. Elle continue à surfer malgré son accident grâce à sa détermination. Dommage juste que le même film n'existe pas en blu-ray.

アメリカからの発送でしたが、問題なくスムーズに届きました。片腕だろうが、女性だろうが、色んなハンディをものともせず、男性でもビビってしまうような大きな波にチャージしたり、また目標を追い続け日々努力を重ねる姿が心に残りました。日本語字幕はないですが、ドキュメンタリー映画なので、ストーリーがなんとなく理解でき、あまり不便に感じませんでした。
