Nobody likes a pushover stand!
Learn from me! I bought the Lamicall cell phone stand, thinking "ah, this is $11, I'll be smart and save $8 off the Elago stand for my home." I had splurged on the elago at the office, and I loved it, but a stand is a stand, right? I mean...$8 can buy a lot, like a few gallons of gas, some bird seed or some gloves to keep me from getting Coronavirus.Generic soda doesn't taste like Coke. A playful puppy on YouTube isn't the same as seeing one in person. And a blowup doll isn't the same as the real thing!Same with the elago stand. The entire time I had the cheap stand, I hated it. The stand would slide around my desk, tip over (because it was cheaply made), and just felt cheap. Cheap phone stands are the blowup doll of cell phone stands. Not the elago. This thing is as nice a stand as a puppy is fluffy. I squealed like a pig in spit when I opened this thing and sat is on my desk. It's sturdy, well-made and doesn't slide around my desk. I have an Otterbox case on my iPhone, and the cell phone fits in there snugly like a kangaroo in momma's pouch.I read the reviews of the sharp sides, the metal being bare and scratching phones (not sure how - there is rubber wherever the phone touches) and the rubber on the bottom being insufficient. That's all fake news. I rubbed this thing all over my body, and not ONE EDGE cut me.So go ahead, drink fake Coke. Drive a Hyundai. Or buy that fake purse on the streets of New York. Buy the cheap cell phone holder. I don't care. You might not even care when you put your phone on the stand, and it tips over. But I do. And I love everything about the elago. Now if this was at all helpful, please hit the button, for no other reason than I like to feel helpful.

Works with My Otterbox Commuter Case! (Samsung SIII)
Otterbox cases are great, but tend to be thick, making it difficult to keep the case on while charging. While this is not a charging dock, you can charge your phone with the case on. If you have an iPhone, your charger cable can actually lock the phone into the stand when charging it vertically. There is a space between the 2 prongs which hold the phone in place, which is the width of the iPhone's charging end of the USB cable (I hope that makes sense).Though this stand is designed for iPhones, it works with my Samsung Galaxy S3, which is a longer & wider phone. I would say my phone is most secure when placed horizontal on the stand. I only say that because the galaxy s3 is a longer phone standing taller on the stand than most phones, so it is not as supported as well. However, I haven't had trouble. Overall, it's a high quality stand, very solid. When using my stylus, I can apply a reasonable amount of pressure without fear of the phone sliding off the stand. Since it is so secure, I can use just 1 hand to operate the phone while on the stand, which probably has to do with the engineering behind the pitch of the stand + the foam pads used on the stand.Getting back to the fit of the stand and Otterbox Commuter case...It's snug. According to Otterbox's website dimensions of my case are 5.61 in x 3.10 in x 0.56 in (142.5 mm x 78.84 mm x 14.28 mm). To be honest, I am not sure if a Samsung S3 with the Defender case will fit 5.88 in x 3.47 in x 1.41 in (148.84 mm x 88.14 mm x 35.81 mm). The cover for the charging port doesn't seem to interfere with charging when the phone is vertical on the stand, as the stand does not obstruct access to the charging port. There are cutouts on the back of the stand if you want to run the cord through the stand, which is nice. One thing I will mention is that this is not designed to be portable, meaning you can't fold it up and drop it into your bag and go. It's not a huge stand, so you can toss it into a backpack or larger purse, but it is not going to fold up into a neat & compact size like some stands I have come across designed for that purpose. Of course, the manufacturer does not claim the stand is portable, nor was this stand even designed for that purpose. Just wanted to point this out in case anyone was wondering about it's portability. I work from home and go into the office, so I plan to leave this stand at home and use a different one for work to keep at my desk.

Great iPhone 5 stand
Great iPhone 5 stand! It has worked better than I expected. I know it's just a stand, but it's great to have the phone always at a good viewing angle. It saves time from constantly picking it up off my desk to see it better. This would match an iMac perfectly but looks great with anything. The angle is perfect; better than the picture shows, I think. I can have both the lightning cable and wired headphones plugged into the bottom at the same time; they fit between the 2 pronged supports at the bottom if you shift the phone to the right a little. There is still enough of a lower left corner edge to hold the phone stable. If you only need to plug in the lightning cable, then it can stay centered. I have a slim Speck case on the phone, and there is plenty of room to sit the phone in this stand. You could have a thicker case and it would still work. There are foam pads that the phone rests on. I don't have concerns about scratching the back because I use a case. I don't think it would scratch the phone, but if you wanted, you could line the upright part with felt, etc. The bottom has two strips of foam to cushion it. It slides around on a laminate surface pretty easily if you try to press to click the home button. You could use some 3M strips to anchor it if you wanted. I usually just grasp the phone between my thumb and fingers and 'pinch' it to press the home button, which works fine. Due to how the 2 prongs stick out where the phone rests, I find that my normal 'unlock' fingerprint from my thumb is difficult to work, so I usually use a second stored fingerprint of the tip of my middle finger to unlock it. This is a minor inconvenience outweighed by the usefulness of the stand. I don't see a way around this. Once unlocked, you can easily touch the screen to open apps, dial the phone, etc., without moving the phone at all, and that has been very helpful. Overall, a great product. The company was very professional and courteous in their follow-ups to see if I liked it (I purchased it; I'm not a beta tester or anything). The packaging was great. I bought one for my dad after using mine for a couple weeks. Recommended.

Nice stand
I love the design of the stand. It has thoughtfully placed holes for cables in the back, as well as padding rests for the bottom, as well as the back so it doesn't clank/scrape against the metal. The only thing that I noticed are minor cosmetic flaws from construction that look like wrinkles around the perch, but other than that it's perfect — I love it.

Compliments an iMac perfectly
I ordered this product because I needed a desk stand for my iPhone that would not look out of place next to my iMac. Well, it turns out it is perfect for more reasons than pure aesthetics! The construction is very solid and well thought out. Non-slip rubber feet in the bottom provide added stability. The stand's matte finish is both pleasing to the eye and practical (it is less slippery and a bare iPhone is less likely to get scratched). In the back, a couple of iMac-like speaker holes provide a means for cable management. The space between the two support arms is exactly the size of the Apple 30-pin connector so while the iPhone is charging, it is even more stable. Not having to remove the iPhone bumper or case every time I charge my iPhone is a relief. In fact, the depth of the support arms is approximately 15mm offering ample room for most normal size cases. Only very thick cases may not be accommodated. The stand's only disadvantage is probably the fact that it is not adjustable although that limitation makes the design simple and elegant. In any case, the angle of view is very comfortable both for desk as well as nightstand use. An excellent and very stylish product!

Everything is good about this stand!
My son bought one of these a few months ago and he said it was the perfect iphone stand. We liked it so much, we bought another one. There is nothing bad to say about this stand and it serves it's purpose as an iphone stand. Simple, well made, looks very nice, useful and easy to transport.
