Good wifi signal range even for 5G
I wanted a wifi adapter with a powerful range and 5G capability to have a faster and more reliable connection than my older adapter was providing. This adapter has been a success. It is providing a good 5G connection even though my router is downstairs and the PC is upstairs. I have Windows 10 which installed the adapter without the need to use the driver on the installation disk. At first it only provided 2.4G, but after an hour or so it just seemed to suddenly connect with the 5G band on the router. The one negative is that the extension cable isn't long enough when you want to use it with a PC. It is approx 80cms long. It could do with being at least 1m in length. I managed but the short length means that it lacks flexibility in placing the adapter exactly where you want it to try different spots for the best signal. Perhaps seems a little expensive compared to the competition, but I haven't tested it against similar products. Paul

Poorly made, very unstable connection.
Coronavirus struck and I needed to work from home. My work PC which has only ever existed in our office with an ethernet cable, doesn't have a wifi card so I had to buy an adaptor. While this adaptor does connect and provides some decent speeds, the signal quality is poor. If you do a speed test when connected with it, you can see it stutter where the connection is momentarily weak, and then connects again. I was able to browse the net fine, but the connection wasn't stable enough for my works VPN.The adaptor is also very cheaply made. It has a weird propitiatory USB connection which doesn't have a satisfying click when you put it into the adaptor, and as such, it slips out when nudged and disconnects. The base is also very light, which makes it difficult to 'pose' the antennae without it falling over. The nail in the coffin was when one day, after only having it for a few days, it just died. Completely unresponsive, no lights on it, no connection to the PC, nothing. After speaking to amazon, and they confirmed my refund and that I didn't have to return it, I popped the plastic housing open to take a look to see if anything could be easily fixed. Nothing obvious, but the soldering looked sloppy, probably a bad connection caused it. I wiggled the connection a little and could see small blue sparks on the contacts and decided that was the limit of my expertise and where I bowed out.All in all, a very inconvenient purchase, at a time where I really needed my WFH set up to work without issue. I've since ordered an ethernet cable.

Complete Failure
I have no idea what happened with this unit, but it seems to have blown up and stopped working. I ended up with two and they both blew. Disaster. However worked well when operative, which was not for long.
