This Little David Can Slay The Shield TV
I had a Shield Tv before and it died of overheating after 17 months. Before that, it burned out 2 Sandisk USB's. The T5, on the other hand, runs cools as a cucumber thanks to its superior passive cooling design. This little box is sold by Minix. You buy directly from them and not some seedy outfit. Delivery was 5 days to Mexico, so in the US should be much faster. It is priced right and the build quality is high premium. It even has some heft to it and is very unobtrusive and small. No ridiculous lights or flashing skulls for children. This is for adults who need a real media hub.It runs Android TV and is Google certified so your Youtube will be in mind-blowing 4k when it's filmed that way. You will have access to the Google Playstore too.No Netflix... due to their extreme hubris! They will not certify it, but who cares, there are tons of other services and Netflix peaked several months ago and now is in its declining phase. They will soon be irrelevant .... yesterday's news. This puppy can play Huge GB files in 4k without a hitch, pause or hiccup in VLC or whatever player you choose. Supports all the exotic new sound and video formats.Supports my external 4TB Seagate Hard Drive but only with a POWERED USB hub! not a deal-breaker, they are cheap or you may have one in a drawer somewhere. The navigation is very very fast and snappy and load times are very short. I don't play games on my TV but I'm sure it's got the horsepower to do a good job there too.The setup is an absolute breeze... you can even do it from your phone for the Goole account setup. The WIFI chip is blisteringly fast! I'm getting the same speeds as my Flagship Galaxy S10 Plus ... in 5g of course. The mouse is fast and responsive albeit extremely simple. If you don't have an air mouse I suggest you order the Minix Neo A3. Check it out on Amazon, It is 100% compatible with all Minix hubs. My Rii i8+ 2.4GHz Mini Wireless Keyboard was incompatible with it, but not a biggie, it was not a great keyboard and didn’t work on some of my other devices either. That’s about it … just don't get sucked into the no-name, supposedly pure Android box quagmire! Check out the Minix forum, you will see that the support is there and it’s not full of people ranting and despairing. Minix is a serious company with an outstanding product that updates for years after your purchase.

Good bang for your buck
This handles HEVX X265 and X265 10bit with ease. Runs cool, snappy fast. Set up is quick and google certified so you can chromecast and use the play store. So you can install android tv apps such as Kodi. This is good bang for your buck. This is my second minix box. The one from 8 years ago still works fine for x264 but this can support my X265 encodes.

Great android tv box
Quality build, runs cool, easy to set up, no problems buffering. Not loaded with useless apks. Remote is ok but for price they should have included Minx full size air mouse with keyboard on back that is my only gripe.

EXCELLENT BUILD QUALITY
This box is one of the best Chinese made boxes I've ever bought. It is well built and runs all the latest technology.

Google concept of Apple TVOS
This box configure by default for Google TV, and Real Madrid service. the platform main feature is google tv, Real Madrid is the main player, you will need a Real Madrid account to prevent buffingThe apps. store is very limited also,The box can be re-configure unlike Apple TVOS, and filelink is compatible so you can custom build your entertainment .This android OS is expected to get automatic update

T5 does it all except Netflix
I've been using these android boxes for about 5 years now. This is my first AndroidTV box versus android tablet version. I will never go back to the tablet version. The leanback google UI is great making everything reachable without the use of an air mouse. Makes navigation and use of multiple apps a breeze.Had all the connections I needed. HDMI to TV. Optical TOSlink to AV reciever. Wifi and 1give port.Extremely easy to setup. Plays everything I have over wifi just fine. I initially used the 1gigE port but for some reason it gave inconsistent connections to my NAS device.Only downside is it is NOT Netflix or amazon certified. Netflix can NOT be installed or chromecasted under any circumstances so if you are a netflix person this isnt for you. Amazon I heard could be side loaded but it allows chromecast so I just stream from my phone.Remote is simple and does not have the voice activation that is built.into the device. You will need to purchase a new remote. I dont need it as I use a Rii+ remote that has a keyboard so I can type. But I do like the feel of the included remote and do use it for navigation when I dont have to type. Makes it easier for the family as well who find the rii remote complicated.Picture quality is great but that really depends on your TV and encoding of your content. If you are looking for a reasonably priced AndroidTV and you dont mind missing out on Netflix this is a great little media device that met all of my needs. No complaint

STOP! Grab yourself a Nvidia Shield Instead. Don't say I didn't warn you :-)
Video frames skipping, delayed audio, very delayed audio with bluetooth headset. It seems the device struggles even more with performace when using wifi network and/or bluetooth paired audio. Tested with local media content and in different scenarios with the same results. Returned and purchased an Nvidia Shield TV running the same base Andriod 9 OS and the Shield does it all right. Also has official Netflix and Prime Apps. Shield remote is way superior also. Pay a bit more and just get the Shield guys!

Quality Build, needs Netflix
Quality build and Works well but Netflix app not supported (it’s mentioned in Ad) but could not find a good version to side load that worked smoothly, also some Australia TV streaming apps not supported but I didn’t try to side-load any. Hopefully Netflix will provide a supported app eventually. Not recommended at this time for Australia
