I was so excited to come home at the end of December with both of our Daughters. I was happy my egg extractor was waiting for me. I couldn't wait to blow my family away with the egg extractor because our family hates peeling eggs.Bottom line: I hope I can find my receipt. My egg extractor arrived broken. I couldn't figure out why there was no pressure.It was because upon examination, I found that the plastic had a whole in it. If there was any quality control they would of found the whole and not sent it to me.Total waste of money unless I can have it replaced.Disapointed for sure, the girls have gone back home and I never got a chance to show them the way it should be as shown on Rachel Ray's Human Lab. That is the reason I wanted it in the first place.

I read all the negative reviews for this product and was therefore apprehensive about buying it, but I am starting a new low-carb diet and since hard-boiled is my preferred way to eat eggs… I figured it was worth the shot. I couldn’t stand to spend another tedious half hour peeling two eggs. I noticed that a lot of the reviews had a similar theme; ‘the plunger is difficult to push down’. I am a rather muscular, young man so strength has rarely been a limiting factor for me; I suspected I would not have the same problems that others had experienced. The package arrived very quickly and I put it to use a few days after it got here. I followed all the directions; and steamed four eggs in the Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Boiler I also purchased recently, I put them in ice water for ten minutes, followed the directions on how to crack and place them in the machine and BAM!! I had peeled hard-boiled eggs! It’s almost too amazing to believe, it is such a simple machine but with such great results! Now, I have to admit, it doesn’t work ‘perfectly’. Three of the four eggs came out with very slight marring and the bottom of the shell (which the instructions tell you to crack) had not come off… but it took all of three seconds to pinch this bit and peel the egg clean. The fourth egg did not fare so well. I had my doubts about it before I even put it in; the shell seemed then and almost looked like it was cracking from the inside before I even boiled it. As suspected, it was the only one that gave me problems, the yolk popped out with a good chunk of the white still attached, but there was a thick layer of the white still stuck to the shell. I went ahead and peeled this the old fashioned way and still think I came out on top (by a solid margin) over doing all four the old fashion way. It worked for me, I can’t guarantee it will for you but don’t let the negative reviews keep you from trying it for yourself!

Does not work as advertised. In fact, doesn't really so much. It does however crack the shell really well, making it easier to peel.

I was so looking forward to this product only to be disappointed. I read the directions carefully as well as the customer comments about how to use this device. After 30 minutes, I couldn't get one egg peeled. Why should it be this hard for a device that's essentially, two plastic pieces? I can peel the eggs by hand and not experience the frustration for why the Eggstractor didn't work. Prior to purchasing the product I read some of the negative reviews but figured the writers didn't use the product correctly. Well, I've become one of those people even though I read the directions, read the tips from the positive reviewers, tried many eggs, and spent 30 minutes. Why would so many of us be having the same problem and writing about it, if there wasn't something to what we're saying? Save yourself the hassle.

THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!I am very careful to follow the instructions to the letter. I can boil and peel 36 eggs in no time. AGAIN - the key is to closely follow the instructions.For perfect eggs, I boil in salt water for 8 minutes, cool the eggs under running cold water, then let sit in ice water for at least 10 minutes. I poke 2-3 holes in the nose, bump the other end of the egg 2 times on the counter, and then peel them.in cases where they do not pop out of the shells in 2 or 3 tries, i just peel them by hand. i am disabled, with limited use of my hands, and cannot normally peel eggs. however, even the eggs that do not pop out of the bottom in 2-3 tries have their shells completely broken and are already separated from the egg white.Again, CLOSELY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and get easily peeled eggs. i use a stopwatch for my times and make sure i do them all the same. going too quickly or slowly will give bad results. experiment at your location and elevation to see if you need to boil 8 minutes, 6, or 10.This thing works exactly like i have seen on the TV commercials. With me being disabled and living alone, this tool has allowed me to once again be able to boil eggs.

I love my Eggstractor. This is not a kitchen device meant for serious people and serious chefs though. The greatest thing about the Eggstractor is that every few eggs one makes a delightful farting noise as it shoots through the hole. Cracks me up every time. This thing provides enough entertainment that I actually want to do an otherwise crappy job, and for that I am grateful.The directions are flat out wrong though. After boiling eggs, drain them and dump a little ice on them. As soon as you are able to handle them, start Egg-stracting. Also, crush both ends. Seriously. Once you have done that, the egg will shoot through no problem.If eggs are small and are that warm, however, you may find the whole egg going through. That's okay, the shell will be broken enough to pull off easily. If you just get the yolk, the egg is too cold.Lastly, try to use this on a table or deep counter as I have sometimes egg-stracting too vigorously and shot shell across the room. Oops.
