Great for beginners, and then some
I have two juicers - an Omega Masticating Juicer and a Breville Centrifufal - so my options are totally open!I love the way this book is divided into the various categories served by juicing (detox, weight loss, etc.). I have tried several and find them easy to make, and delicious. The only problem I have is with the juices that call for grapefruit, as I am on a medication that precludes ANY consumption of this lovely fruit (and I am a SERIOUS pink grapefruit lover!) I would have liked for there to have been a suggestion of which citrus would be an acceptable substitute for the grapefruit which I may not have because it effects the way my meds metabolize..Another discovery I made was when I was getting ingredients for a couple of the recipes that call for coconut milk...in my local grocery store, there are two varieties offered - regular and 'lite' - it would be helpful to know which version the author used in formulating her recipes. I opted for the 'lite' version and found the taste of the juice (Strawberry and Coconut Whip) so rich, I can not imagine how decadent it would taste otherwise!I am also a CreateSpace author and think there could have been better advice give to this author about the size of the book and the font, as the size seemed a trifle awkward, and a smaller font may have prevented an extra page being needed for only one sentence. All in all, I find the author certainly seems to be very knowledgeable and has done her homework on which ingredients are best to achieve the desired goal - as well as making suggestions of the types of stores where some ingredients may be found.I have already earmarked 6 or seven of the recipes that are my favorites.Thank you, Sharon, for a very informative, easy to use, and instructive book.

A to Z of Juicing
Here's a quick summary of what is inside.First up there is a list of reasons to juice. I personally found this interesting as funnily enough an investment guru I follow was recently talking about his personal journey with juicing and how it helped him overcome a skin disorder that his doctor said was uncurable.Secondly there is a guide to choosing juicers which is kept nice and simple, just a few hints to help you choose a better model.Next there is a nutritional guide about what specific vitamins and other health properties are in a number of different fruit types. This also includes tips to help you minimise your pesticide intake including a number of fruits the author recommends to only buy organically.Onto the juice recipes. Each recipe is nicely divided into handy categories including: Cleansing and Detoxification, Weight Loss, Mental Acuity, Aging. The steps to follow are simple, nicely layed out and come with a number of tips. For all health conscious people, each recipe comes with dietary information such as calories, sugar, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, protein and sodium. Many of the recipes offered appeal to the tastebuds, such items as the fruit clense and the watermelon eruption are ones that stick out for me.Overall it is an excellent book that is sure to appeal to anyone contemplating a juice diet or looking to expand their juicing repertoire.

Getting healthy with surprise results
I first came across this book after buying my new Vitamix and wanting to make healthy juicing choices to take advantage of the blender. On Amazon it he book sounded great but I first borrowed it from the public library. I wanted a book with all the choices in this book but I liked that it also provided nutritional info. After using these recipes as a breakfast meal replacement, and no other dietary changes, my cholesterol dropped forty points in two months between tests. As an added benefit, the dr and I had previously taken me off of cholesterol meds due to the terrible side effects and little to no change in numbers. Too bad I didn't find this far better way to treat cholesterol years ago. In any event, I came home from the doctor and ordered myself a digital copy to keep these recipes near and dear. Some of the drinks are ugly, but they are way better than the previous poor health issues I had. My hair is shiny, skin glows with pink cheeks and nails growing out of control. I am closer to sixty than not but I am loving the results of this book.

Easy to follow and delicious recipes!
We've been juicing for years and thought it might be nice to add a few new recipes to the mix. Pooped on amazon and thought this one looked interesting. Even though we juice nearly everyday, far from what I would call a "beginner", I was really happy with the information provided in this book. It has a great variety of recipes for beginners as well as for people like us who are familiar with juicing but just want to try something new. The recipes are very easy to follow, delicious and the nutritional information is a great bonus! It was very well organized and explained why juicing is good for you, in addition to walking you through how to select a juicer. Overall it is an excellent resource for anyone contemplating juicing or just looking to expand their juicing repertoire.

Perfect for first-time juicer
I got my juicer a week ago but was waiting for this book before I started using it. Just reading through it to make my grocery list made me excited. It is so much more than a recipe book. There is tons is helpful information like it lists the symptoms you could experience if you want to do a detox cleanse and what to expect from juicing for weight-loss. Each recipe also has a description of what the combination is good for and when you should drink it. The recipes are incredibly easy to follow. I'm glad I chose to start with this book rather than larger, more expensive titles. A must have for a beginner juicer.Only complaints: some of the recipes require the use of a blender as well as juicer. The book contains many typos which is the editor's mistake but in no way take from the quality of the information. Still worth five stars.

Really impressed! Very extensive and detailed information - I love the recipes
When I was little my auntie introduced me to juicing and me and my cousins used to have a natural juice made for us every day, when we came back from school. My favourite one was very simple: apple and carrot. As an adult, I have been more into blending but I really I wanted to get back into juicing as well so I got this book. I am really happy with my purchase, as it contains all the information I needed and much more. The book covers topics such as cleansing, detoxifying and weight loss but I am more interested in the general health benefits of juicing. Now that the summer is nearly here, I want to start preparing healthy juices for me and my family and this book has loads of recipes I want to try.I like that it also includes some recipes that need to be blended, as I am already a fan of smoothies.I found the bits on colours fascinating (properties of vegetables and fruit depending on what colour they are) and the information on how to get the right juicer has also been quite helpful, as I wasn't sure which one to get and I now have a pretty good idea of what I want.I recommend this book to anybody who is new to juicing, those who want to incorporate juicing into their weight loss plan, and in general to anybody who is serious about eating (and drinking!) healthier.

A great book for newbie and experienced juicers
Just like Vanilla Addict I am mainly into smoothies. So much so that I invested in a Vitamix blender a few years ago. I find that good green smoothie books are a bit thin on the ground and as I had also been a keen juicer about 20 years ago, I thought I'd try this book to see if I could get some inspiration for smoothies and maybe start in on the juicing again. I'm really glad I did. This is a great book, both as an introduction and for the more experienced health food enthusiast. Although I was aware of the benefits of making a diet a colourful as possible, reading about the individual health giving properties of the different coloured fruits and veggies really motivated me to try new combinations and ingredients in both my smoothies and juicesI also learned some about the best ingredients to promote weight-loss, which is something I will definitely be using.NOTE: Some of the recipes do require a blender as well as a juicer, but a household blender will be perfectly adequate, you won't need a heavy-duty one.All-in-all, a really good book to get you started and keep you on track for living (and enjoying) a more healthy life.

Very American
It is OK - just. Apart from being a crusading manual - full of hyperbole - it does contain some useful tips and suggestions. It would be nice if some idea of calorific value was included. I might refer to it very, very occasionally - but not worth the money.

Useless
Disappointing recipes...most of them do not sound appealing..the book has a lot of literature on juicing at the beginning - which i found too boring to complete. I'm glad i only bought the cheaper kindle version and not the hardcopy
