Can you store the jug in the small box and then the small box into the large one?

The Jug is too big to go in the small box, but there is room in the big box for both.

Is the larger cooler tall enough to stand a 4 pint milk bottle upright in?

Yes plenty tall enough - all the coleman boxes (I have 5!) are brilliant - by far the best (i.e. stays cold longer) than any I have had before. Recommend them
