Zoo Med Creatures Humane Live Insect Catcher (690861)

I bought this tool because it was the same design as a different brand I had that broke after many years of use. I use this little gadget to remove bugs, spiders, flies, wasps, etc. that get into my house. I hate squishing them or using chemical sprays and this enables me to catch them and put them outside. It is easy to use and has a slide door that you can open and then put the cup part over the bug, trapping it and slide the door closed without harming the bug. My grandchildren love catching bugs with it. It helped get them over their fear of bugs because I could catch them and with the clear compartment we could safely watch them without getting stung. It also would be perfect for reptile owners that like to catch bugs to feed to their pets. I think that is probably the intended use, but works for mine, too. I have one in my camper and use it every time I go camping on the flies and mosquitos that sneak in!

I am able to get the bugs and taken them outside just in case I get a beneficial insect. If not, I let the spiders take care of them. The problem is that with clear little plastic trap door/closure it is difficult to see if I got the insect inside. I used a sharpie to trace a line at the end of the plastic trap to see that it is catching the insect.

Works perfectly, allows me to collect spiders and remove them safety without killing them.

We usually take the spiders and insects outside by hand but sometimes they get away. This contraption makes it a ton easier to catch the little strays and keep them secure until we can safely get them back to their natural habitat. I strongly recommend this even if you aren't afraid of creepy crawlies.

A life saver. I don’t want to kill them but I won’t touch them so this helps us both.
