Lovely Boot
So, i am usually a Mammut kind of guy but thought I would try another brand. I consider myself as an "intermediate" Hiker/climber so this review will be based from my activity. So, out of the box i completed a fairly technical 15.5 mile hike up and down cliff edges and coastal paths (a section of South West coast path) to break them in and i can say overall i am pleased with this boot, but there are some drawbacks to them. I will start with the positives, the boot looks purposeful, is very waterproof and warm (torrential rain and 40mph headwind for most of the hike) and the boots held up well and best of all NO BLISTERS! The boot is relatively comfortable too initially. The stiff sole helped on the steep climbs and descents and the lacing system held my feet in place. I take a 10.5 but bought an 11 and had plenty of room available. So, the bad bits: The boot feels a little heavy and is very stiff but, but i am still breaking them in. The sole feels like you are walking with boards under your feet and as a result the underside of my feet felt tender and a little bruised the day after. The boot had little to no grip across wet rocks and found myself slipping a fair bit. The lacing system is brilliant, but fiddly, when putting the boots on you catch the laces in the wrong eyelets which was frustrating.I will try and remember to update my review after a few more hikes, hopefully drier conditions but overall i am pleased with the boot and will try some inserts to ease up the feel of bruising. I would recommend if you do a mixture of technical mountains and occasional sunday stroll, but if you are a sunday stroll walker i would not recommend these for you. I feel my crampons will work well with these boots also for the alpine climbs.

Great value-for-money.
Have worn several pairs of these boots and they always impress for comfort. Sole is sufficiently stiff for mountain walking & sole is long lasting. Have hiked Austria, Spain, & Scotland in these & never experienced wet feet. Great value.

Expensive but appear worth it
These boots are far more expensive than anything I've bought before, but the quality so far seems very good. For those that sometimes have swollen feet, it's a bit tight at first to put the feet in, but after 20 minutes the feet should feel ok, if you suffer swollen feet, you might have to order bigger size - same as for normal shoes.Walking around they seem good, but they don't seem to flex much so they might feel a bit clunky, and as for driving with them, you might have to get used to them as they feel less sensitive, so you have to learn how your foot feels on the gas / brakes, unless you drive like a lead foot then these will feel great.A bit cheaper versions are available, but it depends what colour scheme you want as to what they actually cost. Overall very pleased.

Really comfortable boots
I've been impressed at how comfortable these boots are. I started wearing them for short 2 mile walks on roads and tracks to break them in and didn't get any rubbing or hot spots. The only point that I would raise is that I ordered a size 13 and received a US 13 which is in fact a UK 12. However they don't come up as small as lots of mainland European produced boots so the UK 12 was actually big enough for me. They're warm, I haven't suffered from sweaty feet and so far they are completely waterproof.

Narrow on the instep but wider in the fore foot
I already have the Salewa crow gtx (crampon compatible) and wanted a less stiff boot for hiking/walking. Salewa are a wider fit so the crows fit my feet, however the mountain trainer is far narrower on the instepand was uncomfortable for me. I had to return as a result but was a great shame as a nice looking boot and was a great fit for my wider foot at the ball of the foot. If they fit you then would be a good hiking/walking choice as well made boots.

Good fit, waterproof, good grip, Happy.
Hiked Dartmoor on the wettest day of the year and my feet remained dry , grip on rocks was good so money well spent let's just see how long they last as I cover a lot of ground.Much better than the Keen boots i had before.
