I've endured a burning pain just below the skin on my left hip for several years, and I began to walk with a slight limp. I went to my doctor, and she told me I have hip bursitis from a work-related fall a few years ago. It flares up after I hike, walk or sit for long periods of time. She prescribed me 600 mg ibuprofen to be taken every 6 hours (or as needed), and rest for six weeks. Since my diagnosis, I've learned that stretching and strenthening my hip and thigh muscles that work with my IT-band (or iliotibial band) will resolve my hip pain. (My personal trainer, chiropractor and friends have incorrectly told me that I need to stretch my IT-band to relieve my pain. I have since learned that the IT-band is NOT a muscle but an inelastic tendon. Strengthening and stretching the muscles around the IT-band will reduce my bursitis flare-ups. This device stretches the tissues surrounding and linked to my IT-band, which have allowed me to strengthen my hip muscles. I've been using it for a few days, and I can feel the difference. As a result of stretching my muscles, my hip area is more flexible, and I am able to focus on strengthening my thigh and glute those muscles more. This is the perfect solution for my problem.

Portable, sturdy and works great! I thought it was a little expensive for a couple of bent pieces of tube metal. But it works! It's stronger than I thought it would be and since we're always traveling (by car) it's extremely portable. We just set it by the bed and stretch each evening and morning for 5 minutes. Doesn't replace the one from the gym but it works when there is no gym! I'll give it 5 stars for functionality, portability and sturdiness but 4 stars for price. I still think it too high price. However I would buy it again and recommend it.

Best stretch for hips and lower back! I was skeptical but after reading the reviews decided to try! I have used this product for only a week but could tell a difference on the second day. I’ve had lower back/IT Band issues for many years. After stretching with this every morning, it has freed up my hips, lower back so much that I didn’t know I could feel this way. Amazing product!

This is just as functional as stretching with a strap - and a strap is a fraction of the cost and takes up less room.

Purchase for hamstring rehab. It works well but you can hit the same muscle groups as effectively with normal stretching. Was pricey considering what it does.

...this device has really given me a new lease on playing.It is INCREDIBLY effective for stretching hammies. It isn't that I could not stretch them before, this thing just makes it easy to do. The first week I after I received it I would use it when I got up in the morning for 5 or 10 minutes. I'd been fighting minor hamstring tears and strains for the past year and was really hoping to be able to play again the following Sunday since I'd had a little tear maybe two weeks earlier.I used it every morning for less than 10 minutes, and on Sunday (wearing some compression shorts this time as well) when I played, I didn't feel a thing. Not a twinge, no tightness, no overt looseness at the end of the game - which is where I usually injured myself), and I felt great.I don't use it as much as I should now that I've been using it for a while, but I make sure to use it Thu/Fri and Monday after the game.I'll never be without this thing again. Life saver. I really thought my playing days might be over.

You definitely get a good, deep stretch that is hard to get from just using a strap or belt.Built well. Kind of bulky, so not something I would travel with.

After two knee replacement surgeries i was VERY serious about my rehab. My rehab clinic was buying this off Amazon so so did I. I was not disappointed. Cheap price for a great stretch that my therapists strongly recommended.

This product was surprisingly smaller than I expected, which is great news because it just doesn't take up any room in my house at all. It assembles very easily and has adjustments for different leg sizes. This is great news for us because the whole family has been using it, from age 7 to 40!I originally purchased this for my daughter who has cerebral palsy. This is a great device for her to get a really decent hamstring stretch, that would usually be difficult for to attain. She is 9 so hates stretching at the best of times, but she has really taken to this and we are hopeful that over time this device will help improve her crouch walking.I have a desk job that I have been doing for the past 20 years, so I suffer from lower back pain from the permanent 90 degree position my legs are in. Getting a good hamstring stretch improves my lower back pain immensely and so this device has been a god send. My range is already improving after only a few days of stretching.All in all this is a really great device that is very easy to use and has now formed part of our household daily routine. This really is a must buy for anyone suffering with tight leg muscles or lower back problems. I love it.

Expensive, but I am not complaining. This "ideal stretch" is GREAT for your hamstrings and hips (when you lie on your side and "twist"). I also got the model that has a little foam "triangle" enclosed in a cloth sack, that attaches to the far end -- resulting in a bigger stretch. (Not sure where to find that "triangle" on Amazon . . . I had to buy it on the "Idealstretch" website. Anyway, I am happy with this device.
