I just started these fish pills and decided to try them out from other reviews on the site. To be honest I'm not if I'm going to stay with these fish pills as I just when I started these I came down with pneumonia and after taking them one time, I got sick off of them. I really think it was just bad timing of taking them but I will say you DO have to eat something with these fish pills because in my case they do upset my stomach if I don't, for other people, maybe they don't. I am going to give them the 3 month run and see how it goes, if it gets better with me I will stick with them and if not I will go back to my original fish pills Barlean's Fresh Catch orange flavored fish pills that I tolerated very well.

Fish oil has really improved my life. I started taking it a prevention for cardiovascular disease as both sides of my family have had many deaths from cardiovascular disease as well as the strokes, hypertension, TIA's. I had quit taking it for a while and found my mood wasn't as good. After a few days back on fish oil, my mood improved, my thinking seemed clearer and my body did not seem as achy. Nutra Elite Icelandic 100% pure Omega-3 Fish Oil comes in a bottle with one hundred and eight gelcaps. They are rather large as most fish oil capsules are. I do not smell fish when the bottle is opened. It arrived safety sealed. Directions are to take two veggie caps on an empty stomach thirty to sixty minutes before a meal. A serving is two capsules which contains 1480 milligrams of Omega 3 fatty acids, 860 mg of EPA, 430 mg of DHA and 190 mg of other omega 3 fatty acids. Other ingredients listed are Omega - 3 ethyl esters, gelatin, glycerin purified water and mixed tocopherols. The product is moleculary distilled for purity. The label also says "triple strength, high-potency fish oil " and 2400mg. The only thing I see listed in the breakdown that could be 2400 milligrams is the total fat content so that must refer to the amount of fish oil in two capsules. Many fish oils have only around five hundred milligrams of fish oil. I love that this product has the recommended EPA to DHA ratio 2;1. I have been using these for over two weeks, I have had no side effects and no disgusting fishy burps. I do wonder though if the gelatin is bovine source since most gelatin capsules are. The directions do say "veggie caps".I generally follow a vegetarian diet. I also like to know what kinds of fish are used and the label dose not specify. I did not email the company to find out but just be aware some fish oil products include krill oil and if you are allergic to shellfish that could be a problem.
