I don't like to leave my fruit out because it goes bad so quickly. But I wanted something to put my onions and potatoes in and this is wonderful. I am able to fit a 5lb bag of onions on top minus 2 or 3 and the bottom holds 5lbs of red potatoes a bag of baking potatoes and even some sweet potatoes. It looks great on my counter and was pleasantly surprised at how much it does hold and without looking like it's bending or cheap.
