Western Stars [Bruce Springsteen] [Blu-ray] [2019] [Region Free]

Not long been back from the cinema after seeing this. Absolutely superb cinematic concert in Bruce's 100 year old barn with full orchestra and band. The storytelling and home movie segments are brilliantly inserted into the unwinding narrative giving us a personal glimpse into the life of one Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce back on form...the film looks great, the production values on this are up with the best apart from the close up focus issues, Bruce just doesn't keep still for long enough for extreme close ups to work. I'm not sure I'll watch it very often, I'm not a big music video fan.If you're not too bothered about Bruce explaining about the thinking behind the various songs then you may be better off just buying the soundtrack CD

My wife is a life long Bruce fan.She expected this as an xmas present.Just like previous years, fans like her are exploited ruthlessly during the season of goodwill !!!20 quid for a bare bones Blu-ray.If it was up to me, I'd have waited to find it in a sale for no more than a fiver.

He is so much more than the music.A sage for our times.Revel in the life he has and his philosophy from the 100 year old barn on his property ,and while his horses are entertained below to the ballards of the cow boy .If ever there was a worthy way to enjoy the spoils of your craft then a ranch with horses and a lifetime of friendships,and wide open spaces is surely it.The music is all rich timbered like the man.wonderful music.

Brilliant performance by Springsteen, he just gets better with age, set in his 100 year old barn with full orchestra and touching story telling in between tracks. This is a must buy for any fan.

Absolutely brilliant- songs meaningful and sound great with Bruce’s narration adds to the power of the songs. Bruce’s take on life is spot on . Film clips in between songs add to feel of film - a true American masterpiece.

Stunning visuals and audio quality, Bruce giving an outstanding performance as always and this time aided by a full orchestra, great songs and stories, Bruce has mellowed over the past few years and this disc is every bit as good and emotional as the live on broadway movie. So stick it in the Blu-ray player, turn up the surround sound and enjoy the ride.

Bought the cd, then went to the movie in cinema and just loved it. Some artists orchestrate the best of their back catalogue and I am rarely convinced it adds much to the listening experience. However, with Bruce, the beautifully orchestrated arrangements and background story to each song on blue ray is a visual and aural pleasure of the highest order. Turn on the blue ray plus hifi, sit back and enjoy.
