Great condition
Classic sci-fi, highly recommended, as I’ll be selling them at some point.

A taste of the future
the whole concept of the colonisation of Mars was interesting. Its development and how it was affected by human nature and behaviour was eye opening. However I think that the books were over long and should be reduced to 2 volumes.Overall a very good read.

More a political narrative than sci-fi
Well I slogged through all 3 books but eventually gave in half way through the last. The books are technically brilliant but they are also dull and anticlimactic. There's simply no action. Its theoretical political observation and commentary. Maybe you need a detailed map of Mars at your side and the will to track the meanderings of characters against it.

Diminishing returns
Red Mars is an SF classic, full of ideas, plot and even some well rounded characters. Its science is convincing and the book is nicely placed. In so many ways it would have been best if KSR had stopped here.Green Mars is an OK sequel. The ideas are not as convincing, the characters wearing a bit thin, but a worth while read all the same.Blue Mars is, frankly, a car crash of unconvincing science, ham fisted attempts at political writing, flat and uninteresting characters, really embarrassing bad attempts to write sex scenes and a terrible plot.Just buy Red Mars and enjoy one of the best books written about the colonisation of Mars.Read Green Mars if you're bored and don't have anything better to hand.Don't read Blue Mars no matter how bored you are.
