Worked better than more expensive one at that other website.
Took me about a half hour to install this. Mostly because it was the second time I did it and wasn't as nervous.I previously got the more expensive replacement glass from another site. I got it reassembled and had 1/3 of the screen go dead.Turns out I screwed up by not removing the inside glass protector! I couldn't bring myself to spend that much money again so I ordered this one.First off, I love how they pre-installed the adhesive on the glass and skinny plastic frame. This is no small thing because putting those thin strips of adhesive on is a nightmare!I found that unless you have super-vision, working with these tiny screws is near impossible. Buy a magnifying glass that you can wear on your face. That makes putting the screws back in a thousand times easier. Also, don't take off the last adhesive on the digitizer until you check to make sure everything works. And don't make the mistake I made last time....pull off the screen protector on the INSIDE of the digitizer. I bet a lot of people reassemble and don't realize they had to take it off until it was too late. Also, surgical gloves are a must to prevent fingerprints.Watch the installation videos on youtube all the way through before you attempt your installation. I know they're long but it will save you headaches by knowing what to do ahead of time.Lastly...TAKE YOUR TIME! This is a tedious process! Especially chipping out the old glass and adhesive. If you're rushing through this, I guarantee you that you will break one of the antennae or scratch the LCD.Then, when it's all done you can be proud like I am. ;-)

taking off the glass is time consuming but easy enough
I've been using this item for about 5 days now and it works. We have a used iPad 3 which we just put games on for my 2 year old. Last week he dropped it and the entire screen shattered. We're leaving for a trip this coming weekend so I'm really glad I found this item. The website /instructions provided weren't very user friendly. I just youtube a bunch of videos. I didn't use all of the items in the kit. The whole process took .e about 3 to 3.5 hours but only because my screen was a B to get off. No matter how much heat I used the adhesive was not softening. And since my screen was so cracked glass was everywhere and I ended up just smashing everything and scraping it all off. I'm sure it would be easier if your screen wasn't as damaged as mine was. After I finally got all the pieces off all the work on the inside was incredibly easy took maybe 10 mins. I recommend doing this away from children or pets due to the glass if your Glass is broken and/or use safety glasses.

Not quite as good as new, but close enough
This kit came complete with nearly everything I needed -- I used my own hobby knife, a good big magnifying glass, and safety glasses, too. And more patience than I thought I had! I learned how to install it by watching a bunch of YouTube videos -- both the kind that speed over the boring parts and the kind that don't were helpful, the long kind when I was getting used to the whole plan and the short kind when I was in the middle of the installation and needed to be reminded of some detail. My only quibbles with this specific kit: as others have said, you can see a faint grid of lines in this digitizer (glass). I don't know if there are any other kits out there that are without the lines, and they don't interfere much with my use of the iPad, so I'm not taking off a star for that. The "touch response" on the home button/bridge isn't as nice anymore either, but then I dropped the iPad right on my original home button and it was important to get a new one -- not all the kits have new ones, watch out -- so I'm not complaining very loud. I'm so relieved I don't have to shell out for a pro to fix my device.

This is the one you want!
if you're like me, you're reading all the ads wondering which one to buy. I've bought two of these before from other sellers, and have usually been disappointed. But this is the one you want! Worked like a charm! It comes with the home button and adhesive already attached, plus it comes with a whole bunch of really handy tools. It has clear protective sheets inside and out that you need to remove. The inside one was so well stuck on that I wasn't sure at first that it had one inside. They don't mention it in the ad, but mine also came with a new screen trim ring, that's worth $5 alone. This one may be a couple of bucks more than some of the other options, but the tools alone are worth it. It ships well protected in a cardboard WeFix box. Before removing the adhesive I plugged it in and made sure the whole screen worked. Usually if it doesn't you haven't inserted the cable all the way up to the white lines, or you have a bad one. This one worked first time.

Good product, great price - just take your time!
I was skeptical of purchasing a replacement screen kit for hubby and my dad to replace the broken glass in my husband's iPad, but couldn't see spending the money to have Apple replace it without trying it first. The process itself was tedious and you do have to be careful and take your time (and watch as many YouTube videos as you can while waiting for delivery) but the kit itself was great and all tools came in handy and the trim piece comes with the kit, and many others charge separately for it. One mistake hubby made when they were finishing up, was they decided to cut a corner and not replace the trim piece, and in trying to work around and finish putting it back together (his trim piece was skewed from how the screen broke) they broke the glass bc it wouldn't attach properly. Great kit, great tools, I'd just recommend ordering two at this price at the outset so you can keep working if you break the glass on the first try. Definitely worth the money!

I purchased this item just over 2 months ago. It worked well at first and it was easy to install with all the tools provided with the product. A month ago we noticed a spot on the right top corner that will not respond to touch. The spot has now increased in size. The problem is you can't just request a replacement or return it because you have to remove the touchscreen and risk destroying the iPad. We just have to hope the spot doesn't get bigger.

Works, but is plastic
It does appear to have everything you need for a complete digitiser replacement, but it's plastic rather than glass, so will scratch without a screen protector.I fixed my friend's royally messed up iPad with this (completely smashed digitiser, bashed corners, bent charge port, EVERYTHING) and it seems to work (after about 2 hours of scraping up tiny glass shards). However, the new screen is popping up at the corners and some edges (seems to be a combination of the bashed corners but also the lack of stickiness of the back tape on this. My friend will have to superglue the corners and hope he doesn't smash up this one.The sticky tape on the replacement plastic bezel is also a bit crap and has loose, too-wide bits that come off at the corners.Everything may well stick fine on slightly less bashed iPads, but these are definitely less sticky than the originals. It does come with a home button, but ours was slightly squinty (minor annoyance, but it does appear to work). Ribbon cable is also slightly too long, so has to be folded on itself and I'm paranoid it will split eventually.I'd check with the Apple Store before attempting this DIY job, as they are known to sometimes replace the glass panels for free.Always remember to test the functionality of the new digitiser and screen before sticking anything down, to make sure you've got the ribbon cables in far enough. Look up videos online on how to work the flip-up ribbon plugs in the iPad 3 if you are unfamiliar. I'd keep the ribbon plug sticker of the old panel as well as this doesn't have one, to be safe.Grey screwdriver which is pictured, was not included. Plastic tools ruined so badly that I'd say they are single use, and the metal tool would be more useful with a flatter edge.

The kit itself is very good but the screen is not
The kit itself is very good but the screen is not. The start button was not correct on the past 2 of the screens sent to me and this caused it not to sit properly in the IPAD. I have bought 2 of these now and the same result on both when the final screen goes on I cannot get the start button to sit level even though I took great care. Looking closly at the second screen button was glued on at a slight angle from the line of the screen meaning it would never sit properly. The result was the button when pressed cracked the screen after 4 hours of fitting 2 screens I am trying another supplier. Also the metal tool for liting the screen is not effective as it is far to thick.

Great piece of kit
Great piece of kit highly recommended just take your time and all will be OK. Plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to remove and replace damaged screens. With all the added accessories you cant go wrong for the price. works great now would never know it was damaged.

Product doesn't work
Product arrived on time and all seemed ok. However, after installing the screen is not as responsive as the original Apple and there is a line approximately 3 inches from one end where the screen doesn't work. I bought an iPad mini screen at the same time but reluctant to install that now. Disappointed.
