Electroman

Benny Benassi..."Electroman"...2011 Ultra Records, Inc.
I rec'd this CD on February 1, 2014. I'd like to offer my review of this CD as follows:1. "Good Girl"...I like the MUSIC better on this song. The lyrics remind me of a girl being degraded OR training in a dog obedience class. The song is okay, but it's NOT my favorite.2. "Rather Be"...This song is very good & I like it quite well.3. "Spaceship"...This song feat. Kelis & it appears to be the most POWERFUL song, on this CD. And I do like it.4. "Beautiful People"...This song feat. Chris Brown & this IS the song that prompted me to buy this CD. I started to hear this song, on the radio, in May of 2011. I think that this song is EXCELLENT & I was rather surprised that it NEVER cracked the TOP 40 Countdown, stalling @ only 41. I never even knew that Chris Brown even sang on this song, UNTIL I saw the Video to this. It is also one of my favorites incl., here.5. "My House"...This song is very good & I like it quite well.6. "House Music"...This song doesn't have many lyrics, only the TITLE is sung throughout. I like it very much.7. "Cinema"...This IS the BETTER version of this song. This song is very good.8. "Electroman"...This song feat. T-Pain on the vocals & I think that it's a decent song.9. "Automatic B."...I don't like this song too much. It is a rather noisy & annoying instrumental.10. "Control"...I love this song a lot & it's another of my favorites. I love the music & vocals, too.11. "Leave This Club Alone"...This song is very good & I like it quite a lot.12. "Close To Me"...This is my TOP favorite song on this CD. I think that it's EXCELLENT in every way & I also feel that it SHOULD HAVE BEEN a TOP 40 Hit Single. Musically, this song could put me in mind of "Beautiful People", somewhat.13. "Cinema" (Skrillex Remix)...I don't really care for this REMIX @ all. Unfortunately, I have THIS version on 3 of my E.D.M. compilations & it's 3 times TOO MANY!!14. "All The Way" (LIVE)...I really don't remember what this song sounds like. I guess that it didn't make that much of an impression on me.I was glad to have purchased this CD from Amazon & it does have some decent songs included. This CD is recommended.

loved it!
Unsure how one would rate a song. I hope people aren't randomly just buying songs without loving them. Thus, it's awesome!

Beautiful Trance-Hip-Hop Mix
A few weeks I didn't know who Benny Benassi was. I heard some of his music before but didn't know it was him. Gatecrasher's Trance mixes was where I first heard his tunes. Besides Paul Oakenfold, Benny Benassi is one of my favorite, now! This CD has some nice tracks on it. Beautiful people (Chris Brown mix) and Spaceship are two of my favorites. But I know this is just one of his mixes with different artists, and there is more to offer in his other lyrical jams!

This album is long and really varied, with some awesome tracks. Not sure which ones are my favs, it keeps changing because it gets better as you listen to it.Highly recommended for house/electro lovers.

It is what it is
I got to 'Electroman' thanks to 'Good Girl', Benny Benassi's song in Lumines Electronic Symphony that sounds like a hypnotic electronic dog training manual (what with all that "come here...shake...bang bang...play dead...good girl" etc.). Which is good music to rotate blocks to in a Tetris-esque orgy of geometry, but somewhat repetitious to listen to as a musical activity.Luckily some of the other songs in the album shine, including the toe-tapping "Rather Be" and "House Music" --- thank you Benny for telling us what the song genre is, ad infinitum, it gets grating pretty quickly...Alas, this is not Benassi at his best -- consider Skrillex's dubstep reworking of 'Cinema", the evocative "Dance The Pain Away" and the awesome "Electro Sixteen" with Iggy Pop as exhibits of the heights that Benassi can reach. But even though 'Electroman" isn't Everest, I guess it's a good thing that Love Is Gonna Save Us.

MP3 and CD Versions are Different
The AutoRip of this album is completely different from the physical CD.I bought the physical CD yesterday, and got the AutoRip immediately, which is awesome. I prefer to buy my CDs from Amazon for that reason. I love AutoRip! However, the MP3 version is only 8 tracks, all different versions of the "Electroman song". According to the track listing, the physical CD is 14 tracks, and includes many more songs than just "Electroman".I haven't received the CD itself yet, so I can't actually review the tracks. However, I've listened to a few on YouTube (Cinema!) and loved them. I'll make sure to update this review when I get the physical CD. UPDATE: I enjoy the songs I've already heard, but rest of the CD is really nothing special.I contacted Amazon about the differences between the MP3 and CD versions, and they basically said they have no control over what gets uploaded to your AutoRip. I know sometimes you get different MP3s than the CD you ordered (i.e., a clean version of an explicit album), but this is ridiculous! 8 slightly different tracks of the same song?! It would be nice if the MP3s actually resembled the CD tracks. Just be wary!

A track by track review
This is a decent enough attempt from one of the world's top DJs/producers today and I have many opinions about this album as a whole. Here's a quick overview of each track:1) Good Girl - a rather rare and bizarre example of a dance track. More likely to be heard in the gym or in aerobic classes, rather than on the dancefloor, if you ask me.2) Rather Be - one of the tracks on the album that aims to get dancefloors pumpin, and in my opinion it does, as the lyrics kind of do it justice as well.3) Spaceship - this one never fails to get me dancing every time I hear it. Can't believe it didn't get the success it deserved when released as a single, as it's one of the best on the album. And with top appearences from Apl.de.Ap and Kelis, that makes it better still.4) Beautiful People - one of last summer's most overplayed tracks, but for a good reason. And it still sounds great almost one year on, even though Benassi is only credited as a featured artist, and Chris Brown, the main artist.5) My House - another catchy track but the hook only just fails to get that well noticed.6) House Music - you either love it or hate it, and I'm not such a fan of this one, as here Benassi seems to have done a mix which sounds like he's trying to perform a battle of the DJs with Afrojack, for example, as he's done tracks similar. And the mix often goes on so long it's made my head sore a few times.7) Cinema - one of three to feature Gary Go, the hook is so good and really catchy, it may get stuck in your head. You have been warned.8) Electroman - many may not like this track due to the appearence of autotune-obsessed T-Pain. He has a connection with the song's theme so I wouldn't say it's all bad here.9) Automatic B - the worst track on the album. Some of the beats were so high-pitched, they made my ears ache, and it often continued for too long.10) Control - a bit slow in places compared to the rest of the album. Doesn't quite take off in the end.11) Leave This Club Alone - another one that would go down well in clubland, if it had more attention, as the elctro-dance vibe throughout is a good one.12) Close To Me - much better than Control, and more catchy and on the edge of a fun-filled impact like most of the rest of the tracks are on the album.13) Cinema (Skrillex Mix) - very cleverly remixed by Skrillex where his sections are involved, and it deserved that Grammy award it won earlier this year.14) All The Way - this one is likely to get people chanting and joining in at gigs etc. due to the appearence here from the Ying Yang Twins. Two tracks that are only on the deluxe version of the album which I think are good as well are as follows, so check them out if you can:Put It On Me - top guest vocals from Pitbull. He makes the track standout as a whole.Dub Rain - more of what Benassi should do without guests on his tracks. Much better than House Music. To sum up, some good tracks and some bad, and if the two tracks had made it onto the actual version as well as the deluxe, I would have given it a better rating, but good going Benny Benassi.
