Best product I could find
I have a modkat litter box and trained my cat to use the top entry door. I had a problem with Betty throwing the litter everywhere. The modkat can be used with a top or front entry. I found my old basic litter still stuck to her paws. Then I found Skoon and decided to give it a try. I have been very happy with my purchase. Its a much larger litter, more like a chunk or rock. Now I only find the occasional rock around her box. Skoon lasts a long time with daily scooping and most important STIRRING. The stirring brings the urine soaked rocks to the top so it can mix with the dry rocks and air out. They seem to dry out without smelling. Eventually about 3 weeks to a month you'll notice the urine smell is stronger and no longer absorbs into the rocks. This is my indicator to change the entire load of litter. This diatomaceous earth product is leaps and bounds superior to clay litter. The bonus with Skoon is that in a short time the poops become hard like little tootsie rolls and are very easy to remove.I could never let the old litter remain in the litter box like I can Skoon, it would have been disgusting.I do use the auto ship. If you choose not to, you can order through Amazon. VERY IMPORTANT you must order the Skoon scooper as Skoon is too big for any other scooper, believe me, I've tried others. My only wish is for Skoon to make the scooper a little larger. I wont be switching from Skoon. I'm completely satisfied. It also comes in lemon and lavender scented but I feel the lemon smelled like urine quicker and lavender didn't smell at all so I stick with the original.

I Thought the Pros Outweighed the Cons - and Then My Kitty Pooped in My Bed
Just gonna jump right in:Pros:- Very Lightweight - I really loved the idea of never having to deadlift a 40lb box of litter again- Extremely Low-Maintenance: I picked up the poop with doggie bags, and the smell would be gone the second I tied up the bag- Dust was only a problem when I initially poured the litter in, and anytime I stirred the litter- Zero Tracking (but I don't have dark floors that show paw prints, and mostly have a carpeted apartment)- Doesn't have a scent and traps urine smell completely. You don't smell ANY cat litter ever- Pebbles seem like they're actually absorbing the moisture and smell- Nothing sticks to the cat's paws or fur- Lasted me over 2 weeks before I got rid of it because my cat's weren't happy, and it was still bright white. Could've lasted a lot longer, probably at *least* a month, and that's for 2 catsCons:- Extremely dusty: could feel it in my nostrils and it made me cough, and I experienced this every time I stirred, which was every other day. It wouldn't get kicked up when my babies used the litter though- Probably uncomfortable for their paws- When you stir, the ammonia smell is unbearableAll in all, I really liked this litter, but it seems my babies didn't. 2 weeks in, my kitty started yelling at me, then 20 minutes into her yelling, she went and pooped on my bed. I felt horrible. She's never done this before. Neither of my cats have EVER pooped outside their litter box, and I think she was clearly trying to make a political statement. I think the litter was probably uncomfortable for her paws, and she wasn't into it.I didn't have puddles underneath when I stirred, like some reviewers experienced, but the ammonia smell was disgusting, and I hated dealing with the smell every time I stirred - and come to think of it, my cat's could probably smell ammonia every time they used it, since their sense of smell is so much stronger, and they're actually in the litter box (I have a top-entrance litter box). So despite how much time it saved me, and how much I loved the weightlessness, the dust, smell, and fact my cats didn't seem happy sealed the deal. I switched back to Arm&Hammer Platinum Slide and they seem happy again. I love that stuff, but was really looking for something that I wouldn't have to clean every day. Also hate that my bathroom is back to having little bits of litter all over the floor again, but at least it clumps well, ACTUALLY has absolutely 0 dust, and is soft on my kitties paws. I recommend that to everyone.

Skoon mostly lives up to the hype.
So we have been using for several months now. Mostly shipped through Skoon but when we need for our camper I buy a bag on amazon. We have a giant flufffy cat. He tracks litter like it is his job. And he also can piss a gallon at a time and his poops are bigger than my dogs. So this stuff is being put to the test. We have tried several litters over the years. I actually really liked the cheap costco litter but it has very little odor control. Skoons pebble size helps tracking for sure. But doesn't 100% eliminate it. The transition was easy when we did it right. We ended up ruining our first batch because we mixed in old litter. Do not do this. Skoon suggests using 100% skoon next to the old litter. If you do not clean old litter they just start trying out the skoon. This worked for us. Pros: Super lite weight, tracks less, smells like nothing, easyish to clean. Cons: Piss leaks to the bottom, not a huge issue because it is covered but you do need to stir litter. Our cat seems to poop right on top and not usually bury it like he did with other litter. This can lead to a serious poop smell and has been an issue in our camper several times. When left this poop will quickly dry out as the skoon is amazing a wicking moisture. The only odor issue we have had is with the poops on top. And this seems temporary. And is an ok compromise for us. It really does last 1 month even for a giant cat. Scooping is weird because instead of clumps you are fishing out poop mummies and stirring to make sure no liquid sits on the bottom. So far this is the best solution we have found. And it makes us feel better about our sicko dog that does get in there and help clean sometimes. She at least is eating diatomatious earth instead of some chemical cocktail. We use at home and traveling in a 22ft motorhome.

One simple addition...
...in adding clay clumping litter in a ~7:1 (7 parts Skoon to 1 part clay clumping by volume) ratio to make this a clumping litter makes this the best litter I've used. For reference I am using the Petco generic unscented clumping clay litter.I have two cats. I've tried many cat litters and the main problem has always been tracking. "World's best" cat litter (the one made from corn) is great as a cat litter but got everywhere. Clay clumping litter was better at tracking but was like glue and stuck to our cat's paws.Come Skoon. Skoon doesn't track hardly at all. It is super good at this and the cats love digging in this. Apparently it is very easy on their paws. Can be a bit dusty, but that cleans, nothing like picking out litter from the couch upstairs (I invested in a dust buster specifically because I couldn't relax on the couch because it was constantly peppered in cat litter particles). Whatever does track is literally discrete pieces which can be picked up individually.Skoon was working... kind of. Problem is one of our cats is ancient and has kidney problems. Between the two cats, this makes a bag of Skoon last only a week on a stretch. The litter was performing very well, but it was very expensive. At ~$25 a week, value proposition is a stretch.Adding just a half inch of clay litter to the bottom of the litter box changed all this. The clay litter mixes between the bigger particles and acts as a binder. When it gets wet, it gets very sticky and binds all the wet Skoon particles together. Then the urine doesn't sink to the bottom and you can cycle saturated Skoon particles out, just like a clumping litter (there's a reason why clumping litters were invented). The net result absorbs liquids, absorbs odor, tracks, and has the "stirring weight" of the Skoon litter (I have not found any clay litter outside the litter box), and then it clumps similarly to a clay litter. The Skoon lasts at least 3x longer and the value proposition is much improved.

Dusty and too expensive.
Was not the worst litter, but it is quite dusty. The biggest downside is how expensive. The tofu litter is better imho. I do love they provided another litter alternative though. Everyone loves how cheap the pine and corn litters are but one of them breeds fungus, so this formula is a good idea. Just wish they could cut the cost and dust.
