Works on Linux, but flimsy: all one stiff piece and metal connector not secure to plastic
I tried this on a Linux Mint Cinnamon and a couple others which detected and enabled me to connect thru it, but the build if very flimsy and broke easily after I must have bumped it a little. First the metal plastic cover detected from the plastic, and when I tried to use it by putting the small internal circuit board back in and plug it, the latter broke. The small internal plastic plate that the circuit board rests upon is also very flimsy. And the metal connector is not securely attached to the plastic body behind it.This unit is all one stiff piece, meaning the antenna is not removable and very stiff to move, unlike the other USB wireless units I have, and therefore the metal connector can very easily be broken. Buyer beware, for otherwise it works for under $10.00 but it is no good now sorry to say.

When it worked it was great, sadly died within a month of very little use
Wanted to make myself a "garage" computer and needed to add wifi to it. Being frugal as I am and wanting the best speed I went for this adapter. I liked that it had an actual antenna as a lot of the smaller ones have tiny integrated antennas which will pick up a signal, but due to interference is very slow at times. This one however worked great and I got full signal from my router to my garage (which is a good distance away as its not an attached garage. However my dreams were eventually squashed as not nearly a month later it stopped working. Not sure why, but it no longer is seen by my pc nor will it work on any others. It wasnt worth it for me to send back so into the electronics recycling it went. Perhaps I had a bad one, but beware that its life may not be as long as you had hoped

Seemingly well made
For an inexpensive WiFi adapter it seems well made. The rotating antenna connector is firm and tight so far seems to hold position well. It connected to my Wifi router just fine on WIndows 10.Cons: It comes with a mini driver CD...in 2020. A CD? really guys? Still once you navigate to their rather slow loading website the Zipped driver file downloads quickly enough, extracts just fine. The interface for finding and connecting to an access point may be difficult for non-techy folks, but I had no trouble.Other: After I finish moving I should have a chance to test out its Linux supportAdded 10/29/2020 It seems to knock my smart TV dongle(a Mi boxS) offline from the WiFi connection. Cell phones seem to have no problem connecting to the WiFi though. just note this adapter may have excessive RF noise that causes difficulty for some other WiFi dependent devices

Linux users should use caution when purchasing this product
I purchased this for use with Ubuntu/Mint. Unfortunately the driver provided with this product, and from their website, is the wrong driver for the product they are selling. It will not work with Linux machines as it is packaged. You will have to track down a third-party driver that has been made available through Github. Otherwise the AC650 adapter will not work with your computer.I also question the high-gain antenna claims being made on this product. This was a replacement for a small 8 year old 802.11g adapter with no external antenna, and the AC650 has shown to have worse signal strength than the adapter it replaced (although better bandwidth and lower latency). With those caveats out of the way, however, I would like to state that now that the adapter is up and running it works fine. So far I don't have any major issues as far a performance goes -- just be aware that running this on a Linux system will take extra work to get it up and going, and don't expect any major signal gains from this adapter if you are upgrading from a older, or more basic dongle. Still for the price, if you are willing to track down third-party solutions to get it working, this may be a good budget choice for many Linux users.

Bought 2, 1 died, seller quick to respond
I bought 2 in December for personal computers at home. 1 of the units died within 3 months of use just sitting in the PC. Not sure why.Still giving this 5 stars because the seller was very quick to help remedy the problem, and the product does give excellent wifi speeds (we use 5g connection). Based on other reviews I don't think my unit malfunctioning is common. Based on my customer service experience I would highly recommend this seller.

Easy to install, is easy to use and works great
For long time i did not trust wireless connections and use AC wall adapters for all of my PCs at home. I purchased this wifi device for old portable machine and tried on main PC just for a sake of it. To my surprise it works right away and much better than my wired chime. With 200Mb/s connection from provider i was happy if i get 25Mb/s on speed test plus i was loosing connection regularly. With this USB WIFI device I've got 67Mb/s at 2.4GHz immediately and never seen signal drop since. At 5.0GHz i could get up to 140Mb/s, but it's not always works and switches to 2.4G due to long distance to the router. With Windows 10 there is no need for installation, just plug and play.Price was good as well so, no need to buy any brand name; they all use the same Realtek RTL8811AU chip-set which makes all Ac 600Mbps Wifi Adapter absolutely the same. They, even, looks similar and, possibly, made at the same place.

Doesn't work on Linux
Tried it on my Windows 10 laptop, and it runs, but on my Linux desktop it always gives me the error "An error occurred while loading the archive."Kind of a bummer, but time to try other methods.Edit:It appears the software just wasn't scripted for Linux. They have a Mac, Windows, and Linux folders on their CD and website, however when trying to run it through the CD it gives the above error. When downloading the driver from their website onto a USB, then running it through terminal via the "chmod 755 autorun" command, it gets this response "cannot access 'autorun': No such file or directory". Scrolling through all the files on the downloaded driver shows the same thing (no autorun or method to install on Linux).Well this sucks, because I'll have to pay delivery return because I got 1-day shipping with this and another product. I'm not returning the other product, so I'm either stuck with this or lose half the cost of it to return it.Please update your Linux drivers!

Good cheap buy
Great little gem. My 2 kids are having internet woes in our new house. They’ve been getting around 5mbps in the 3rd floor (modem router is in the 2nd) Slapped this right in and they get 85mbps and the other one gets around 100.Now to wait and see how long it’ll last.

Terrible build quality
Steer clear of this trashy product. I've had it for less than a year and when I went to transfer it from my old desktop to the new one, the metal sheath on the USB connector came off inside the USB port. It basically disa led that USB port and also made this device useless as it won't sit snug in any new USB port. Waste of money.

Terrible product stops working after 3 months.
After 3 months of use 2 of the 3 purchased started intermittently working to not working at all now. the USB connection is burning to the touch when trying to reconnect it to USB port. They both no longer detect in windows and even when they did detect you were not able to see the any connection available even though there were plenty in the area. Very disappointed.
