Rinehart Field Target

Fun, tough, and easy to transport
I received this for Christmas and I love it. It's a lot of fun to toss out there and take some shots at it. The target itself seems to be very well made and the field points of my 55# Hoyt recurve don't penetrate all that much. It actually works as advertised; because it is weighted, no matter how much it rolls it always ends up with the correct orientation (meaning, the slightly flat side is always on the ground). Obviously missed arrows tend to end up in the ground - if this is something that bothers you, this target might not be for you. Although I haven't had this too long, I really think it will improve my accuracy because it gets me off of regular targets. Personally, I found pulling arrows out of this a little tough (not nearly so hard as to deduct a star), but maybe it's because I'm used to a really old target where the arrows come out super easy. Having used this a few times, I have no doubts about it's durability and I'll update this review and let you know if it stands the test of time. For the price (about $34 at the time of the review) this is an absolute steal and I completely recommend this to you. I hope this review helps you make a decision.

Works for 25-30 lb bows.
Update. I've had the ball for some time now and I'm upgrading the ball to 5 stars. Infact I'm going to get a couple more.Only the first day, but I like it so far. I shoot a 30lb recurve so I wasn't sure if the arrows would stick in it. Turns our both my Easton 2016's and my home build wood arrows do fine. At 15-20 yards I get about 3" penetration and the wood 2" penetration. Yes your arrows can glance off, but I toss the ball into a ravine and shoot so not a worry for me. I use to shoot milk cartons, but this should work better as my wood arrows won't pass through tearing off feathers. I'm only giving it four stars for now. We'll see if time takes it up to five.

1 shot at a time
The ball is very durable and great for taking with you t your hunting location (hunting camp or tree) and getting in a practice shot the evening you are going to go out or before you leave the truck. Just remember to shoot 1 shot and pull the arrow... IF THE BALL SPINS AND YOU SHOOT ANOTHER ARROW, YOU CAN (AND WILL) HARPOON THE OTHER ARROW IN THE TARGET. The 1st time... bad luck, the 5th time I did it... I am a slow learner... if the ball spins after shooting it, pull your arrows.

Delivers on concept, falls short after use.
The ability to keep this in your car and pull it out when you have some spare time is amazing. You just toss it and shoot at it. For that its great. When you start getting a little further away from it is when the problems set in.Because its a test in gauging your distance, you (as others have pointed out) will inevitably miss it and lose an arrow or two. Not the worst as you should have some sort of backdrop behind it. In my case, my arrow landed very low on the target. See picture for results. Since all the sand drained out it no longer sits upright and bounces around when hit by an arrow the same as if you were just shooting at a soccer ball. This is problematic as arrows will start going in to it from all directions and might cross paths in the core of the ball ( I destroyed two arrows this way). I'm hesitant to bust it out again as these "lost" arrows are starting to add up to be more than the target itself.

Very Generous
I know that I requested for the 9in ball. Im not certain what happened but they were very nice to sent me that 18 in 1. I tried to contact the sell to see if it was an error on the item they mailed off but I was able to see the document of the change that Rinehart made. I greatly appreciated the target they gave to me. I have one of their blocks and love it. I will really enjoy this item also.

Cool Target, great for travel!
Great target to help improve accuracy, love shooting at this at 60 yards our; really has helped in tightening my groups. Easy to pull arrows from my compound bow. If you shoot on the ground it will move. I recommend hanging the target via the rope loop or setting a secondary larger block or bag target behind.

great target, great value!
I love how quiet it is and it takes some punishment. I'm sure it will last for a while. The only con I have with it is the sand on the bottom. when I hang it for moving target the arrow obviously will penetrate enough for the sand to come out. However I like it even without the sand, they shouldn't bother with the sand. You can't beat this target for the money.

Low pound bow + high field grain tip = arrow sometimes bounces off the ball.
I have a 30 pound bow and shoot arrows with 300 grains. About every 5th or 6th arrow that hits the ball bounces off. Also the two halves of the globe are not perfectly aligned. Otherwise it's OK. I do like that it's handy and portable. Also having to search for your arrow after you miss encourages you to pay close attention.Having written all that I'm sticking with my Field Logic Block target.
