Auto Floor Guard 8.6' x 18' Containment Mat

We had the competitor's mats for several years until we ran out of spare edging pieces, which were always breaking, and were tired of patching holes with Gorilla tape every spring. We found these Auto Floor Guards and they are simply wonderful. The foam edging is easy to drive over and never compresses (we don't miss the sound of cracking plastic that we had with the old ones). All the winter muck stays inside the mat. We had a terrible winter and were amazed at how well the mats did even filled with water, salt and gravel road debris. Today we dragged the mats out of the garage and used a power washer to clean them and considering the crud that was on them, they cleaned up very nicely and dried quickly. They are so light weight, they are easy to maneuver and yet very strong.During the past year that we have had the mats, one time the wind caught the end of one of two mats and lifted it up against the back of the car, which was extremely easy to put back down. Our old mats had boards on the end to keep them down in the wind, so these new ones do stay in place. And we've never had to reposition them like we had to with the old ones. They aren't cheap, but they are worth every bit of the cost. Based on one year's of use, they look like they will hold up for many more years.

I purchased two of these for the garage. I was tired of slop melting from the cars in the winter and freezing the garage door to the floor. In this regard they work. I have filled a five gallon paint bucket scooping up water from a single mat with a shovel. I do have two dislikes. The mats do not like to stay flat when driving in and out. They start bunching up. This is resolved by pulling on the corners / edges to flatten them back out. Also, be very careful if there is snow / ice on the mat or your shoes. Live in Minnesota where the salt and sand makes a mess of the garage. Coated my floors a while ago, but would have to rinse and scrub them every couple weeks to get the salt and dirt off. These mats catch everything from the car. Love them so much, I bought 3 of them. Using them with a full size pickup and a Tahoe. The pickup is nearly the same length as the mat, but it still catches 90% of everything from the truck. With the mats, instead of cleaning the floor every couple weeks, I now clean the mats once per month by dragging them out on to the drive way and hosing them down. Then drag them back in to place. The garage floor will definitely last a lot longer with these vs trying to keep them free of salt by scrubbing them. These are heavy duty mats that have worked great now for 2 seasons without any signs of aging or wear. Was going to stop using them in the summer, but decided why do that. They eliminate the tire tracks and issue of hot tire pickup of the painted floor.

i think this is the first time i have ever taken the time to post a review, since i found this product is such a complete scam. The product was competently not as described on the site. I intended this for a very specific space, and the size was not consistent with the size listed on the product description. not by much but enough not to fit in the space. this product is basically made of cheap tarp like material my first impression when i opened the product is like this is a garbage bag with a lip on it. i so spent top dollar expecting a top notch product and i got a substandard flimsy thing. it also seems to move around a lot especially when you turn the wheel, as other buyers have posted, it also freezes on the surface when cold and this creates a very hazardous condition when walking over the surface. in conclusion, i would rather buy a $10 tarp install a 1X2 on each edge and cal it a day. 20 min labor and about $40 and you get a better and more sturdy product. if you are going to buy something out of the box than get the carpet type so it can absorb some water and wont be a slipping hazard. the seller would not take the product back under any circumstances. i offered to pay return shipping and restocking fee but he refused saying that its over the 30 days. (it was 60 days when i requested the return as i was traveling) i take it that they would not be able to find another sucker to buy this piece of rubbish. so please don't be that sucker.

I had a new driveway poured two years ago. Throughout the winter, the snow melted in the garage and ran under the door and under the driveway causing the slab to heave up and damage the door trim as well as break out a piece of the new concrete. The Floor Guard does a great job of keeping the water from running out but I have to vacuum it up the water on a regular basis. The foam inserts designed to create a lip around the edge aren't very big and have collapsed after only having in the garage for less then two months. To took rolled up hand towels and placed them under the edge where the car tires drive over. This seems to help. I would recommend the Auto Floor Guard.

I was a little reserved initially, because there was only one review on this containment mat.Plus, the price was $50 to $70 more than other mats I was reviewing...(but they all involved installing edges).This does exactly what it claims to do....It contains all the water, dirt, and sludge from my SUV and keeps my garage floor clean and dry.The edges don't look deep enough in the photo, but this mat has handled everything I've brought in from the Maine weather.I clean it up with my shop vac or slide it beyond the threshold of my garage door, and lift the mat to drain the water into the driveway.Very durable, yet light weight and easy to handle.Now I don't have to worry about water seeping into the walls, or tracking water/mud/dirt into the house.I opened the box and laid it down on my garage floor.Easy as that.I love it so much, I just bought another one for my other garage bay.
