Clips will break
I liked this hat clip for the first 4 weeks I had it. I used it on a few camping trips, and also when going to a parade/outdoor festival. The battery lasted a while, the light was bright and it was nice to have a hands free light.I had read that the clips might break, and I was very cautious when putting it on my hat, as I do have a bit of a curve to the brim. One day it just snapped though, and I wasn't even putting it on the hat. I think that those clips will just give out eventually.Once its broken, its kinda useless. It would be nice if the clips were metal, and you could just bend them back as they get loose. That way it wouldn't matter if you over-torqued it, you could just bend it back. Obviously this would add 10 cents to the cost, if they left them shiny, and probably another 5 cents if they paint the metal black.I think it would be worth it though, then they'd never have reviews talking about how the clips snap off.

Time Tested & Still Works Like A Champ!
I bought this in January 2010 (3 yrs ago). I use this every single night to walk my dogs. I turn it on & off sometimes several times during the walk. All together, over 1500 on/off cycles with gloves on/off, in rain, snow & cold. It still works like new - no flickering, cracking or other problems with the unit. The batteries (CR2032) are very inexpensive through Amazon and I replace them about once a month. As for the clips breaking, it's never been a problem. I've simply devoted a ball cap to this light and there's no need to keep removing it.I've also used this for projects where I need light (cleaning behind the refrigerator, finding/removing ticks from dogs, hooking up wires on electronics, etc.) and it's great for that too. A must have for any number of projects where you need more light!

worth the money
This light goes above the bill which keeps it from blocking your vision. It is plenty bright enough to work with and is so light on the cap you forget it is there until you need it. The on/off button is a little hard to get at but that way you don't have to worry about an accidental turn on. Not sure how long the batteries will last yet as this is the first hat clip light I have tried so far. I read about some people's problems with clips breaking off but hasn't been an issue yet because I have been careful. It was a good buy for the money.

Handy - but cheaply made
I'm an aircraft mechanic, and these devices are useful, especially when I'm working at night. My only real concern is the durability of the plastic clips that are used to attach it to the bill of your cap. I would prefer them to be metal, but I suppose that would make it cost more. If I ever find one like this that has metal clips, I'll buy several.Update to the above: Sure enough, the plastic clips are the "Achilles heel" of this product. One of them broke after only a month of normal use. It will still stay on my cap with only one clip, but I feel it's only a matter of time before that one breaks, too. For this reason, I have reduced my rating to 2 stars.Final update: The second clip broke, so now this thing is totally useless. Find one that has sturdier clips.

Great idea, but breaks like less expensive models
Bought this more expensive cap light after reading about how the less expensive models broke so often. I've had this one for about 2 weeks, took it on/off my cap 5 times, the clip broke. This is a great idea product, but it would be less expensive in the long run to buy multiple replacements of the less expensive model since both seem to have flimsy clips.

The battery is supposed to only last for 2 hours ...
The battery is supposed to only last for 2 hours. I plan to use it to officiate track & field during evening meets when I need to look at the clipboard of names after the sun goes down.

great light
This light was better than I thought it would be. I could'nt tell how big it was from the picture but it is only about 2 inches wide which is great beacause its not big and bulky like some of the others I've seen. It has 5 led lights that are extremely bright. Its great for close up light and hands free action. I use mine for work in attics, crawl spaces and working in closets. I just slip it on my hat, click it on and then take it off when im done.

Good idea but limited application.
Good idea but does not work well enough for me while working in the garage.
