All canteen covers for this sets are Genuine G.I. used surplus Issue, I don't have any control of the quality of it, some might have some spots or repair stitches, and some the markings are rubbed off but they are all functional condition.

Great piece of gear
My Father, a brown shoe Army vet, has been looking for this style of canteen cup for quite some time. Albeit that we could find originals at different surplus stores and gun shows for around $40, he didn't really want to spend that much for one. So, we found this on Amazon and ordered two. The cup and canteen are steel, not aluminum and are very weighty in the hand. The quality is evident and so far has performed admirably for every camp and bushcraft task we have put them through. The canteen carrier is a real surplus item and the two we received were in great shape. Pop is very pleased with this item and tells me that it feels and appears very much similar to the GI equipment of his youth. All in all, a great find and purchase! Cheers

Outstanding quality!
Incredible quality! Extremely well made! No plastic taste! Stainless is super easy to clean and should last indefinitely. The cap has a great leak-proof seal and a chain to keep it from being lost. The cup is the same design as military but better quality. Could be placed directly in fire / oven for cooking. Cover is standard military issue. Shipping was reasonable... arrived a day early. This is a VERY nice set, doesn’t get any better than this!

Stainless steel means it will last and last. The cover is supposed to be used, but the one I received looked like new.
