Excellent robust product - Highly recommended
I have couple of older versions of Wansview cameras and newly bought version (Q5) camera as well. All these are indoor products. I have been impressed with these purchases particularly for the value for money .My trust for the brand got deeper when I tried the new Q5 camera as it had all the features (including the cloud storage option) that most high end cameras/brands provide. The difference is that those brands charge you a very high price for the same features. Now with that trust I thought of trying the outdoor camera as well. I was using one of my indoor cameras on a windowsill to monitor outdoors but sometimes the glare of the glass window panes obstructed a clear view.It was no brainer to buy the outdoor camera from Wansview.I have Amazon prime service and as such the order was delivered the very next day.The package was neatly and safely packed. As soon as I opened the box what was evident was the robustness of the product. I dearly wanted it to be a hardy product as I live in Scotland and strong winds & rain is a common occurrence.Having tested it even in gusty winds and heavy rain I am really satisfied with the quality of the product in terms of withstanding those elements of mother nature.Assembling was different compared to almost plug and play features of the indoor version, but this was expected. It was not at all difficult to assemble it as well.Once the camera was assembled and mounted the configuration of adding it to my already set of App was very easy. The camera allows you to have cloud storage (for a fee). One can make use of the free 30 day access and see whether it suits you.If you are more orthodox, you will not be disappointed as SD card support is available as well. The camera does support motion detection and it works well.Night vision is very good and as I said earlier I’ve checked this in the night with heavy rain and winds and still the picture quality was good.If you are looking for a sturdy reliable outdoor security camera I can highly recommend this. Also worth mentioning is the company’s customer service. When I first bought my indoor camera (in 2016) after about 10 months I disconnected the camera (house move). When I tried connecting the camera in the new house I found that I have lost my instruction booklet.Upon contacting Wansview customer service they were very patient and helpful and guided me to get the camera set up.

Top Quality camera with excellent features ... the Wansview W5
I ordered the Wansview W5 Outdoor Camera on the Wednesday and it was promptly delivered (for free … and well ahead of schedule) on the Friday.Straight out of the box, the W5 just oozes quality, with a certain weightiness that lends a feeling of robustness. It comes with clear instructions and all the necessary accessories for wall-mounting etc. This includes a template so that you can easily drill all four holes to match the mounting bracket. Most DIY enthusiasts (like myself), however, will probably already have their own box of bits (screws, raw plugs, washers etc.) so that they have additional options, depending on where they plan to fit the camera. As expected, the camera was fairly quick and easy to set up (which is how I like it), and it also has a good degree of adjustability on the mount. I have it set to display (and record) images outside the front of the house to keep tabs on the cars parked on the drive. This it is doing 24 hours a day. The associated App is installed on my Android phone, and this provides me with an exceptionally clear and detailed wide-angle image, which I can enlarge and then maximize. In fact, the App simultaneously displays a second image from a Wansview K3 Indoor Camera installed inside my shed/cabin. I understand (from a friend) that you can have as many as 6 cameras - and possibly more - set up to work with the same Wansview App. You can also share the same Wansview App (and facilities) with other members of the family … you just need to set a shared password to use when the next person wants to login.I have found that Night Vision mode (which provides a monochrome image) works really well on this camera, although I prefer to have this feature turned off. This is because I leave a coach light turned on outside the house during the hours of darkness. Due to the high quality of the W5 Camera lens, this low level of light still provides an acceptable full colour image. As a point of note, I generally find that Night Vision works better for cameras (like my Wansview K3) fitted and pointing inside a building, as opposed to pointing outdoors through a window … which can produce the artefact of unwelcome glare.I quite like the Motion Detector feature, which produces short videos of movement activity. For example, this will show you if any stray cats (or foxes etc.) have wandered into view during the night. I also like the 2-way Audio (with a microphone that can be turned On/Off via the App) … you can have a conversation with somebody outside the house from the comfort of your own living room.As the W5 is an outdoor camera, it is nice and waterproof. The camera basically meets my every need in such a device. I really couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and I would definitely recommend it without hesitation. In fact, I’m thinking of purchasing a second W5 Camera for the back garden.I believe the W5 camera is only available in the one colour (white), which quite suits me. However, some people might prefer to have a black version alternative, in order that it doesn’t stand out so much against a dark background. Each to their own, I guess!
