I have no idea how this thing knows how much voltage to deliver but I've used it to test single rows, singe LEDs, and whole arrays with it. Works for all of them.

Excellent results. Build quality is worrisome.
Extremely helpful for active working prototype design and build bench. Saves tons of time and gives exact data instantly. Definetly going to buy several more.Only complaint is that it does not seem like it's going to last very long. It's built like a toy.
