"Mac Daddy" Filters
Love these things. The "Mac Daddy" of the 3M filters (filters damn near every contaminant). They are slightly harder to breath through than a P100 filter (the particulate only filters) but you wouldn't notice unless you were comparing one against the other. These are the only filters I use now because I can use them with, basically "everything" - which is to say, lead, dust, mold, asbestos, pesticides and Clorox (bleach). 923's are simlar but the 926's include a couple of additional gasses so I figure what the hey, at (roughly) the same price why not go with the "Mac Daddy?"

It's true
First, I can't (nor can most or all of the reviewers here) actually review this from a truly technical perspective; I can't say if it's actually protecting against all of the stuff it claims to. For that, I defer to the eminence of the 3M brand, federal regulation, etc.So what can I say? I can say with honesty that when paired with a full face respirator (in this case the 6800), this thing really DOES prevent me from smelling anything. Once I confirmed a proper seal with the full face mask (I prefer full face to partial) I spend some time grinding metal in a garage. Normally the stink of this is quite substantial, yet with this one I could smell absolutely nothing. Then today I was sanding some residual mortar from a tile floor I was demoing. Could not smell ANYTHING!FYI The P100 particulate rating of this will not decay over time. In fact, particulate filters get better over time (even though they will make breathing harder). The vapor rating will decrease and, at some point, I will start smelling things I currently cannot.Anyway, the manufacturing date on my filter said september 2016. The Expire date on the filter's air tight packaging said September 2021. This means if you open by Sept 2021 you're good to go. To maximize life span of this, since the carbon that absorbs vapors is always "working", I simply put a strip of masking tape over each filter when not using it, trusting that the rubber flaps inside the mask cover air access from the other side. An alternative would be to put the filters or the mask in a bag.

They work
I use these filters when sanding wood and grinding steel and when spray painting and using the dangerous gel paint stripper and I like them the air feels fresh and its easy to breathe with them. I opened them up before discarding them to see whats inside here is the picture. Hope this helped

... use this for pest control and we use some pretty hardcore chemicals
I use this for pest control and we use some pretty hardcore chemicals. Its been 6 months of using this filter and still not the slightest hint of chemical odor. Thoroughly impressed and would definitely buy again. Wont buy anything other than 3m.

3M multi gas/vapor 60926 stops chlorine fumes and HCl fumes ...
3M multi gas/vapor 60926 stops chlorine fumes and HCl fumes when using pool chemicals saving my nose and lungs. Thanks to 3M for making affordable breathing respirators. I'm sure everyone in LA traffic or perhaps on any road way with significant traffic would benefit from wearing these masks. It would definitely be easier breathing. Though I suspect it doesn't stop carbon monoxide.

Great filters and they last a while when used moderately!
These canisters made it impossible to smell paint thinner from about 2 inches away. Also, these were used with a gas mask when I accidentally left my car parked at the Airport for 2 days, with the windows open. When I returned, the car was basically infested with mildew and mold and until I got a new car, I had to drive it for two weeks. To avoid getting Legionaire's disease, I wore this mask driving and got weird looks from other drivers, but I saved my lungs from mold spores!

Crucial for hazardous work
It wouldn't seem like you're taking your life in your own hands when you're treating a swimming pool, but after two chemical burns from fumes wafting in the air (one on my eyeball!), I realized this setup was cheaper than a trip to the emergency room. These snap in easily to any 3M compatible face mask (push in and turn) and they protect you against some pretty serious stuff. I didn't realize I was using industrial concentrations of Muriatic Acid (a.k.a. "Hydrochloric"), but the fumes *are* the acid, and now I can safely breathe while handling something that can dissolve metal or concrete. Since I only use the cartridges a couple of times a week, I think they'll last a while, but if I were doing this sort of thing every day, I'd make sure and keep these regularly replaced--cheaper and safer than an injury and a trip to the ER.
