worked for awhile
worked nicely for awhile... with ,my bluetooth earphones was strictly used in the gym. After it was dead on battery on last Friday (2/7), charged it and tried to use today.. could no longer find my earphones (which were already connected to two other devices automatically). That was the frustrating part of this device, which I could live with, but it never ever connected automatically to the earphones, although until today always showed up in the device list. Tried power cycling, turning BT setting off and on... nothing, can't find my headphones.

No custom equalizer, Volume control is not smooth
My 10 years old, Rockboxed Sansa Clip Zip starts showing some problems. I love the Clip Zip and it is the best portable DAP in my possession, mainly because it has smooth volume control, great sound quality, and customizable user interface. However the Clip Zip has been discontinued and has became more expensive by time (now it fetches for $60-80); yet, the newer version is far inferior. So I picked the Wiwoo U5 because it looks just as small, has the clipper, and of course, significantly cheaper. However the question is that does the Wiwoo U5 has smooth volume control like the Clip Zip? Small volume increment is important so I can listen to music at the "sweet volume spot" - I dislike listening from cellphone because it gets too loud when loud and too quiet when quiet. So I found that the volume increment in Wiwoo isn't as smooth. It has large volume increment like cellphone does. I never get to reach the sweet volume spot when listening to music. Yet, there is no custom equalizer as claimed in the product description. The preset equalizers wasn't satisfying as well - Least I liked the Rock preset which increases both lower end and upper high but the treble / upper high sounds too sharp and fatiguing while the mid gets too recessed. But again, it does not have of the customizable equalizer as described.Guess Ill have to stick with the Sansa Clip zip and might to shell $60-80 on it.

Great unit in most ways.
I really like this player in most ways. The only real drawback is that the display is even smaller is reality, than it appears in the listing, and just not suitable for some of the environments in which I need to be able to see it. The fact that it's OLED is a great start, I just wish they'd find a way to utilize more of the screen "real estate" by coming up with a larger display. This may or may not allow it to keep such a low price, but I'd pay a bit more for something much more readable. I like the general design and clip style.I'm probably in the minority on this next aspect, but I'd love to see a player on this level add the Podcast feature to their OS. Have a distinct Podcast folder, and any file that is tagged as a Podcast will always get a position file of it's own, to always track exactly where you left off with that file. Music really doesn't need this, but it's crucial for most people listening to podcasts and audio books. It seems the Sansa line of mp3 players from Sandisk is one of the very few with this feature, and they've been increasingly disappointing to their customers over the last decade or so. I've been avoiding using my phone as a podcast player for years, for a variety of reasons.

Not a touch screen!
It's cute and fits in my small pocket when I am taking a run. But whenever I am out, the fm doesn't tune into any stations. Also, when paires with my Bluetooth earbuds, it cannot maintain any distance. I have to clip it on the neckline of my jacket to hear the music. If I put it in the jacket's picket, the connection is lost. It is very frustrating; I wanted to use this instead of carrying my phone but I am very disappointed. Even though, the front of this device is a large screen, this is not a touch screen and only uses about 40% of the screen to display. Returned.

Less than impressed
This is similar to their other MP3 player. It's slightly larger. The button layout has been changed the change is not for the better. The play/pause/enter button is now on the side instead of the face. Making changes requires a lot of finger acrobatics to press the top left, top right, button left and bottom right button. The buttons fell really flimsy. They rattle if you shake the player. On the plus side, the compact size and clip makes it easy to carry almost anywhere on your body.It works as well as the other player. I use it for listening to audio books.

Perfect for me
I use my mp3 player at night. The thing important to me, is the black screen and bright LED readout. It's easy to organize, find and sync. I clip it in my collar and use earbuds. I'm old and don't use bluetooth (like Machette don't text) and I can reach up and go to the next track anytime without opening my eyes. It weighs nothing, which means if you dropped it on concrete it would break for sure. For an older person on a budget, that isn't hard on items like this, it's perfect. I can leave it on the charger and clip it right to my shirt so I don't lose it.

Value
As an mp3 player, this little guy is awesome. You can pop an SD card in there and go to town.It is VERY light. It fell out of my pocket and since I am legally blind, I couldn't find it...for 2 months.Yes Im that slob. but this little guy just keeps on working now that I have found it again. I just plain love it and am so grateful for it.

There are better options for the price.
Cute and small. Bluetooth worked well. Buttons on either side are used to navigate menus...a little confusing. And no photo/album cover capabilities. But my main complaint is the way it felt...plasticy and cheap. The buttons sort of rattled when you press them. There are better options for the $26
