Good quality Dosa Tawa
This is my second purchase of the same make Dosa Tawa. Quality of the material and finish is top class. Looks slightly thinner than the first one.Preparing the cast iron tawa is very important, once seasoned properly, no need of looking at a non stick tawa for ever.I am explaining how I seasoned my tawa.Step 1. Dipped in rice rinsed water for one dayStep 2. Clean and dry the tawaStep 3. Heat the tawa on mild flame and pour two spoons of oil. With tissue paper apply the oil throughout the tawa. Continue for around 3 to 5 minutes. Initially the tissue paper will become black. Change the tissue and rub the surface until the dirt and rust is removed.Step 4. Clean the surface with a tissue paper and apply little bit oil. Fry chopped onions with little split urad dal until it turns brown. Keep moving them to the entire surface.Step 5. Clean the surface and apply excess oil. Cut an onion into half and using fork, hold it and rub the cut portion on the tawa surface repeatedly for few minutes.Step 6. Clean the surface completely. Now the tissue paper will not become black, indicating that the surface is clean. Allow the tawa to cool.Step 7. Heat the tawa to medium heat, apply a thin fil of oil (don't add excess oil) spread batter on the surface allow it for a minute...dosa will lift up at the edges. Dosa Tawa is ready!!See the photos..step by step procedure explained

Good product
Update: using from past 2 months, still I have to rub the pan with onion for every dosa. Otherwise dosa is sticking to pan. How many days will it take for getting fully seasoned. Actually proper seasoned cast iron pan acts as non Stick. But this is not. Now I am disappointed with this item. Its smooth surface gives nice dosas. I made jowar dosa, turned out good. We have to season it, just follow the instructions given you will be good to go. Also its not too heavy, i am not sure its a pro or con.

A quality product for a healthy cooking
This is awesome bcos I got what I expected. Thick, easy and quick cooking. Helps in reducing gas for cooking. You gotta know how to use it after seasoning it and have to maintain a bit as it comes life long. How to Season? For any iron cast, pre-season before first time use is important.1.Wash it with your regular soap dish.2. Pat dry and heat it in stove to dry the excess water/moisturizer.3. Keep stove in sim and Use half cut onion, to evenly apply oil all over the tawa front side.4.do it for atleast a minute till the onion juice and oil mixes and blends in the tawa surface.5. Then switch off allow it to cool and then use the same onion or a muslin/cotton cloth to apply a thin coat of oil to the back, side and the handle of tawa as well. Set it to rest and use next day.Viola yu have seasoned it for the use.Now after every use like dosa, uttapam, roti, just use muslin/cotton cloth to thin coat it with oil nad leave it.But when yu use for doing omlette, clean with soap and do the season steps for maintenance. Generally, wash it after 4-5 uses.

Worst for dosas
The tawa is heavy built and looks good in quality., Works great for parathas..but for dosa it is a nightmare. I have seasoned it for about 25 times in last few months. But no dosas come out properly, all of them stick: be it homemade batter, readymade batter, instant dosa mixes. None of them work on this tawa. I have used same batter on other dosa tawa which i bought again after this disaster and i can make paper thin dosas in that. Tried with same batter again on this tawa, result was disappointinh again.

Dosa tava become useful after continuous seasoning method for almost 2 months..
Hi, I am changing my below previous review with I wrote after 3weeks of use..Now it's been almost 2 months since I purchased...I continue followed all seasoning instructions and fried onions on tava to make more seasoned... almost doing this for 2 months ..now my dosa tava has become useful..now dosa and other things are coming nicely..Need to follow continue seasoning for almost one and half month...also use to fry many onions on it...then to use for dosa once ur tava is set... first heat on hight flame once little smok comes then speard oil and use to make dosa ...after use do not wash just clean with dry cloth or tissue paperBelow was my previous review which I posted after use for 3weeks: I am writing the review almost 20 days ofte use of dosa tava...I have followed the seasoning process as per provided instruction, but still non of the dosas are coming out it is sticking mainly at middle part even on low flame or on medium flame... getting tired and total waste of time for me everty time I am making on it...it requires full attention than also single dosa is not coming out well...it sticks at middle ..I have posted pics as well of my today's uttapamI have lost the return timeline now...Waste of time money
