Contemporary's Number Power 2: Fractions Decimals and Percents

What I like about the book it helps with some fractions and decimals. What I don't like about it is, the book doesn't have enough of topics to cover everything in terms of more practice. What I used it for: my GED classes.

Need to learn fractions, decimals, and percents? This is the go-to book. Good explanations, examples and lots of practice. Supplement with math-drills.com and you are on your way.

Math, being one of my favorite subjects; I found last year that I had NO CLUE TO WHAT MY GRANDKIDS WERE DOING IN THEIR ALGEBRA CLASS, meaning, I could not help them. So I decided to take a few classes myself. This is one of the books in my class. It is an excellent book!! I have always bought the Schaum series, but I prefer this book. It is much easier to understand, very concise, and have many examples, with many problems to solve. I sent Schaum books to my grands last year, but I am going to send them some of these. (There is a complete series of math books) And I will be getting some of them for myself!!If you or your children need refresher books, this series looks like the one to get!!!

This book was used in my Adult Basic Education math class offered for free at the college for remedial math. I took the class to boost my COMPASS test score so I don't have to take and pay for so many math classes. I bought this because I liked its layout, clear instructions and I don't want to lose what I learned before I am able to test in a few months.

So this book is all done it’s all written in and problems are solved.What good is this going to do my grandson very disappointed not worth a penny I paid for it

Excellent mathematics book for learning as well as review! I have now collected almost the entire series for reference books to occasionally 'brush up' on my math skills (use it or lose it). My post-high school daughter was in need of strengthening her pre-college math skills before entering college and she states that the Contemporary's Number Power series books are very easy to understand and were very beneficial to her as well.

This book should have died out long ago, except....it is the best review workbook for basic math that I have found. Why try to reinvent the wheel, when this book is perfect. It covers all the basics, and combined with NP 3, takes students right up through linear equations and cartesian graphing. The majority, nearly 100% of my adult learners break down at fractions operations coming into the AW Math 11 course. NP 2 and 3 bridge that gap successfully for even LD students. They also cover exactly the same topics as the AWM11, except for the trig, in a basic form. Once the foundation is solid, the higher level work is doable, and the students know it is. If time allows, you could throw in NP4 Geometry. Also excellent.
