Quick, fun universal system
Grab this game for quick to play pulp campaigns where you still want at least a little character depth. Chracters start out pretty powerful, a group of 3 fresh Player characters can deal with enemies in the number that even 5th level dnd characters would hesitate to take on.I was very impressed with the open-ness and fluidity of character creation and advancement. Starts very open, and they stays that way. You can easily make your character good at anything you desire, there are no real set limits by the rules in the way of classes or anything. A player can start out as a bare-bones fighter and acquire magic powers later that simply augment his sword swinging.I also enjoy the magic system, written out enough so that you know how a spell works and it's edge cases from reading the material, but open enough with it's "trappings" system that you feel okay skinning the powers (read: spells) however you want. The only thing my players had trouble with at the table is understanding and fictionalizing the wound system the game uses. It's hard to know what a wound looks like and what "shaken" looks like, in the fiction of the game.Works just as well for a pulpy fantasy game as it would for a weird west game. I've done both so far, and will probably keep using it!

Excellent game system
I've been playing TTRPGs since... the 1980's, I guess. I've been creating my own settings since the 90's, and I've played a lot of different systems. This(Savage Worlds) is one of my favorites, and has become so very quickly. I'd never heard of it a year ago. I think it has a good blend of efficacy and ease of use, and the games seem to flow well without getting bogged down by overly complex systems. I highly recommend it.

Pristine Condition!
I bought this right about a week ago and have been cracking this baby open on multiple times a day. The binding is very durable, the pages are thick, and the print is magnificent! There are no ink smears, uneven pages, or anything to make me worried about the book falling apart. Plus...it's got that nostalgic new book smell. I'm a sucker for new book smell lol.As for the content itself, SWADE is very easy to grasp and will hopefully be something that my group runs for years to come! I'll be the GM for our Deadlands campaign and needed the basic rulebook for reference. It's fantastic and I recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit more flexible than Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder. You can play literally any genre with this ruleset and, as long as you have the basic concepts of combat, skill checks, and roleplay down, you're golden! It's worth at least a one-shot if not a full-on campaign!

An excellent upgrade to a fast and versatile TTRPG system.
Savage Worlds has been my group's go-to system for about 3 years. We started with the Deluxe edition and have played about a dozen published settings and a few home made ones. The Adventure Edition improves on Deluxe in every way. The rule changes make sense, the artwork is improved, and the book layout is MUCH easier to read and look up information.Any previously published setting can be easily converted to this edition as you play.At first I was upset at the price increase as Deluxe Edition was $10 and pretty easy to talk my new players into buying a copy. Once I received my book I could immediately tell the quality was so much higher. So far two of my players in our six player group have bought their own copy unprompted.I highly recommend Savage Worlds Adventure Edition.

Savage Worlds Adventure Edition: High-Quality Fun for Every Genre
The Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE) stands out in the world of tabletop RPGs. Its sturdy hardcover, glossy pages, and vibrant artwork make it visually appealing to flip through. I was surprised to see that the book is a bit less wide than D&D 5E book. The gameplay lives up to its "Fast! Furious! Fun!" tagline with streamlined mechanics that keep sessions quick and engaging. The innovative use of "Bennies" adds a layer of strategy, allowing for creative and heroic feats. However, the simplicity might not suit those who prefer detailed mechanics. The reliance on exploding dice can also lead to unpredictable outcomes. Despite these minor issues, the system's adaptability to various genres—from sci-fi to fantasy to westerns—ensures a fresh experience every time.I recently ran a Deadlands campaign where the players' creative use of Bennies led to many memorable moments. One highlight was a grizzled mechanic rigging a bomb to turn the tide of a battle, showcasing the system's potential for epic storytelling.Compared to Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder, Savage Worlds offers a faster-paced, flexible alternative. It's perfect for those seeking a dynamic RPG experience that fosters unforgettable stories and moments.

Noticible improvements
I got this mostly to silence the whining in my RP group, but it's actually an ok book. The Explorer's edition is better IMO.
