Decent drill bit but not what is shown
The drill bit is decent, drills smoothly into woodThe pictures are wrong, they clearly show a reduced shank bit and the package in the picture states it's a 3/8" reduced shank bit, it is NOT. It's a 1/2" shank so it may not fit your tool.It appears this is a common issue as several recent reviewers had the same problem.I can still use it in my large drill press but I had hoped to use it in other drills.

Seems to be a common problem. The item being sold on this page has the wrong image in the listing. The item being sent out is not a reduced shank.

Not a reduced shank bit as shown in the picture
The bit I received twice (after exchanging the first one) is a straight shank bit and will not work in a normal 3/8 inch drill. The picture clearly shows a reduced shank bit, it is not.

1/2" shank won't fit most drills
The item is not what's pictured. It has a shank that is not reduced, so it will not fit most drills, so you'll end up returning it.

It'll take you forever
I would have still been drilling had it not been for a Diablo spearlike looking drill bit (super long) that I used to burrow through first. It wobbled because it was pencil thin minus the head, and so the hole wasn't straight through, but that's when I used this dewalt bit to finish it out. Still took a while to make it all the way down.

Not the same as the picture on the site
The picture on the site clearly shows a reduced shank which is inaccurate. Disappointed!

Junk and sure it was a knock off
Junk, not real Dewalt. Surprised it didn’t say Dewitt on the package. Broke on the 4th hole (wood).

Like Buttah
Used this larger-than-I'm-used-to drill bit to put some holes in some 2x6 cedar boards for a blind shelf system I'm setting up. I'm no pro, and hardly even a novice so the size of this but was really intimidating when I opened the package. But, it worked like a charm, went through the cedar like butter, and I called it a success. Did what I needed it to do, and quite well at that.

Excellent price for this size of drill bit. Dewalt makes high quality goods so it should last years if treated properly.

Though I did not use it that much but I must say the build quality is good and it even fit in my old black and decked cheap drill.
