Not THE caddy bay for Asus N56Z but it does the job
This caddy bay is not specifically for the Asus N56. When installed, it would leave a space on the side of the laptop because it doesn't come with a exact cover for the laptop. So if you don't carry your laptop around. This would do the job.

Use existing face-plate if fit is off?
My understanding is that we are supposed to remove the faceplate from existing DVD/Blu-Ray drive cover and place it on this unit and then its fit is undetectable from the original. Can someone validate this for an ASUS N56VZ? If no comments are left, I will comment in a few weeks after I install my new SSD in bay 0: Intel 730 SERIES 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SSDSC2BP240G410 , and the original 750 GB HDD in bay 1 (this adaptor). I plan to clone the SSD after prepping the HDD, then move large files, like game folders and back-up data to the HDD and for example; run the steam program off the SSD and point Steam to the file folders on drive D (formerly the C:/ HDD).
