Dr. Seuss: The Cat in the Hat

It's so nice to have this for my son as I grew up watching it! It is true to the old school movie from 1970s!

He likes children movies.

What a great trip back in time. Dr. Seuss was such a genius. He tells the story of bored kids, with a highly disciplined pet fish, who are visited one rainy day by a cat who destroys their house. All the while, he's getting them out of their rut so that they can have fun. The theme is wrapped up in the last song of the movie:Sweep, Sweep up the memories. Those old, untidy memories. Broken, mixed-up memories. Of what we had one day.Sweep, Sweep out the nonsense. That crazy happy nonsense. This world's too old for nonsense. Sweep, just sweep it all away.Everything in a state of grace. Everything back in its proper place. No more rainbows for us to chase. No more games to play.Sweep, Sweep out the laughter. There's no more time for laughter. At least, not until after I come back now You know I just may.It's a fun, sad commentary on what happens when there is too much discipline. Or maybe it's just a cartoon. :)

My own children watched this lovely musical 25-30 years ago. We all still remember some of the songs! Now I gladly buy this again (many copies) to distribute to my adult children for my grandchildren to enjoy. MUCH better than the garbage on TV today!

Good condition

We bought Cat in the Hat as a donation to a children's libary along with several other items. Great story line and wonderful pictures. Everyone enjoys the story and the laughs it brings. If your looking for a child's or someone who young at heart it would be a perfect gift.

THIS IS BRILLIANT! I love this! I bought this because I lost the box to my other one and plan to give my original to my brother. Just like my first DVD. Came in brand new condition in the shrink wrap with no scratches. Plays well. Just like I remember from the VHS tape, and all the songs are there, from "Nothin' to be Done", "Calculatus Eliminatus", and "Cat, Hat". Great buy for dr. Seuss fans, parents who grew up on the original, or just nostalgic fans.

The best cartoon ever. My son love it. Dr. Seuss is great!!!! We have a lot of books from him and now we are so happy to have a DVD :)

Of all videos we bought or received as presents, dr seuss is the favourite with the teletubbies. All others seemed to either scare our daughter or were not interesting. She has been watching dr seuss videos since year one and it this one has received equal attention as the Green Eggs and Ham.She is now two and a half and enjoys watching them.
