Fantastic monitor for gaming
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 (Gigabyte GForce G1 Gaming), attached via DisplayPort. Stock clocks and fan.First impression: solid packaging kept this monitor in perfect shape for shipping. Out of the box, the first thing I noticed was how solid the stand was, and the light weight of the monitor. Stand took 10 seconds to set up, and another 5 seconds to *click* the monitor on, which was very intuitive. After plugging in power and display port, the monitor automatically chose the correct input and displayed Windows. Immediately noticed the crisp colors, sharp edges, and shockingly good contrast for an IPS panel. The colors, to my eye, look very accurate and I haven't changed them at all. I immediately went into the monitor settings and changed into Adaptive Sync mode (hardware vertical sync) which caused the monitor to turn black for a few seconds, then display my screen again. EASY. I also noticed that the monitor was refreshing at 144Hz in the information page for the OSD. This rate is only supported over DisplayPort, HDMI can't handle it.The first game I fired up was Risk of Rain 2, which my GPU had a hard time keeping at 60 frames with VSync on. With Adaptive Sync, I get a solid 120+ FPS and buttery smooth action. Adaptive Sync really is one of the best features of modern day monitors.I also tested this with Escape from Tarkov and Hell Let Loose and had the same buttery smooth picture. For FPS games, the contrast really stands out as a key feature for peering into dark rooms, or complexly shadowed environments like forests.Pros:* Almost certainly the best monitor at this price for the feature set (2K, 144Hz, Async)* Amazing feature set for the price, and no goofy RGB, "gamer" stuff, icons, lights or anything like that* Minimal setup and easy menus* Excellent contrast* Excellent response rate allows buttery smooth image without noticeable blur* Automatic input detectionCons:* Menu buttons are on the back of the monitor, so it's hard to feel which button your fingers are placed on* Ergonomics concerns if you're anal about monitor positioning, or need it to be vertical (you will need to buy a VESA stand)* Minor light bleed in the corners, to be expected with an IPS panel. It's impossible to find a panel without it.

I took a gamble and bought this used "Like New" from ViewSonic. So far so good.
I honestly thought I was going to get some marked up, scratched, and very dim screen buying this thing used. To my surprise I only had 1 dead pixel in this whole screen and it is a white dead pixel on the very edge of my screen. I only noticed it do to being in the black taskbar on the bottom of the screen. Other than that the only way I could tell this thing is used is due to the retaping of the packaging box. My only gripe is that the HDMI cable it come with does not let Windows 10 utilize its full frame rate. I don't know why but the frame rate was capped at 75Hz max using a HDMI cable. I did go on ViewSonic's website and download their drivers for it but that did nothing to help. The only fix is to buy a quality Display cable and use that. I am using it on a XFX DD Ultra 5700 and the 20.2.2 version2 drivers from AMD recognize the display and unlock the Freesync option as a default setting. This thing is bright and makes even fast pace game look pretty. Aside from no longer including a driver disc and having to buy a Display cable to make it work correctly it works great!Update Aug 2022: The monitor died after 2 years of use so I purchased a second one brand new this time. There are 2 HDMI ports in the back. One is the higher data transfer port and the other is a cheaper one. The high data HDMI port will utilize the whole frame rate of the monitor up to 144 hz the other port caps out at 75 hz. So if you can't get the computer to go past 75 hz plug the HDMI cable into the other port in the back. On the used refurbished one I had purchased neither HDMI port would would go above 75 hz so I had to use the Display cable.I have this one under extended warranty so if it dies in two years of use I'm going to get it replaced and look elsewhere for a longer lasting monitor. I still have a CRT ViewSonic from the 90's that still works fine and my friend has an older 1080p LCD ViewSonic from when that format just came out and it is running strong too. If this is the level of quality this company had dropped to look elsewhere, but for now I'm going to blame the short 2 year lifespan of the old one on being a refurbished unit.

Best monitor iv ever owned
iv had this monitor since 2019 and it has been absolutely perfect for everything i needed it for. It enabled my higher end computer to shine using a Display Port, and it also has 2 HDMIs on top of that that i can use for my work laptop and also my Playstaion 5 using the Higher end HDMI they give you by default.switching between these 3 displays is literally a 2 button press and can be done in a few seconds tops.the color settings are very easy and the monitor UI is some of the best iv seen. you can also see the power consumption in the UI and see when you are pushing the monitor too hard.this monitor DOES sync with nvidia control panel for G sync using its Freesync without issue and works as advertised.i prefer IPS monitors and this one is a fantastic IPS and all specs are as advertised.since 2019 iv had zero issues with it, and its been an amazing primary monitor.when i first received this monitor i did return the first one as it had some dead pixels on the side of it. but if you are in the market for monitors you will see this is pretty common with high end monitors and you will very likely have to return them until you receive one without dead pixels. but iv had zero dead pixels for the past 5 years and am very impressed.if you are looking for an absolutely stellar primary monitor, this is a great choice.
