Quick Tip (the short version of my review): This thing is awesome. It is attractive and works well. A great value.With a few more details: I really like this food scale. When I started really monitoring my fitness, I found that counting calories and nutrition intake was going to be essential. As a result, I looked into find a food scale that would be inexpensive, easy to use, and attractive in our kitchen. This thing fit the bill.It is super easy to use. A few clicks of the button allow you to cycle through different measurements and the LED read out is very easy to read. The glass top is very easy to keep clean - a quick wipe with detergent and wipe it off with a damp cloth. It seems to be accurate - though I am not using it in a lab setting where it has to be super finely calibrated. It may be that good, I just wouldn't know.The size is nice - it fits easily in a drawer when not in use.Overall recommendation: great scale at a great price. I needed a fairly inexpensive food scale to start measuring my caloric intake and after reading the reviews I decided to go with this one. The exterior of the scale looks elegant with a glassy white surface. I didn't like the four little legs on the bottom of the scale; I would much rather prefer a flat surface so the scale doesn't wobble. It's pretty sturdy but I feel like sometimes I can feel it wobbling and the weight would fluctuate a bit.The buttons are touch-sensitive and are responsive. NOTE: IT'S SOMETIMES HARD TO TURN OFF THE SCALE. I HAVE TO PRESS LIKE 5 TIMES AND IT WILL TURN OFF. THEY MIGHT BE TOO SENSITIVE.The ACCURACY of the scale is the most important part. It does really well when I tested some coins. Three quarter weighed 17 grams. 4 Pennies weighed 10 grams. And 2 Nickels weighed 10 grams. It does not measure tenths of grams but this was not important to me as I am measuring food and +/- 1 gram of food is not that important to me. I did notice that if something was supposed to weigh half of a gram more, the scale would jump around from the lower number to the higher number essentially rounding it off. Also BASED ON POSITION THE SCALE CAN GIVE READINGS THAT RANGE +/- 2 GRAMS! I had readings of 190 grams that turned to 188 grams if I moved the plate. But no more than that. So one star off for that.Back-light is fine. I don't need it and I don't cook food in a dark kitchen.Overall it is a decent food scale. I'll see how it holds up during the following months. If it lasts a year I would say the price is worth it.

This scale works very well. I ordered it for my grandmother, who required a scale that is easy to clean and easy to operate - English is her second language, so anything complicated would have just caused frustration. Since we got this scale, she has been able to use it without any problems. The extended weight limit has also been great for baking and cooking larger volumes - the precision is around +/- 1 gram, which is fine for even fairly finicky recipes in my experience.The customer service for this scale has also been fantastic. The first time I ordered, I got a scale that had a manufacturing error, so I sent a picture of the problem to customer service. They responded and resolved my problem within a day or two - I didn't have to return the first scale, and the cost of the second one (which was manufactured correctly) was refunded.My only complaint is that there aren't any instructions for calibration. The scale was accurate out of the box, but having calibration instructions would be helpful just in case.

I wanted a scale with a backlight as reading my digital scale is harder then I like. I thought this scale would do the trick as it has so many good reviews. Unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars. It is a good scale. Measures in 1 gram increments and is nice overall, but as others have noted, if you push the "buttons" to hard it tips forward.But my biggest complaint is the LCD. They went cheap, and it is only viewable looking straight down. A minor gripe to some, but major to me. I like leaving the scale against the back wall - now I must pull it forward for basic use. The display is completely invisible unless you look straight down into the window. My non-backlit scale does not have this problem. when you have a bunch of items laid out in front of the scale, you have to move them out of the way, pull the scale all the way forward and then weigh in order to see the resulting measurement. I originally thought i had bad batteries as the display seemed so faint.

This scale is exactly what I wanted. It looks great, is accurate, is easy to read and easy to use. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and could not be happier with it ! Like the other digital scales I researched, it has the "tare" function which allows you to put a container on the scale, press to reset the weight to 0 and then only show the weight of the item you put into the container. The scale has a smooth tempered glass surface and is extremely easy to wipe clean. It turns itself off a short time after using it to save the batteries and uses a couple of AAA batteries which are easy and inexpensive to use. The company even sends follow up emails to make sure you're satisfied with their scale and encourages you to respond if you have any questions. I am now considering buying a few more to give as gifts. I am definitely happy with this purchase!
