Power or function? Aputure mc beats boling p1
First the bad news, this light is decent but not as bright as I thought. Especially with the included diffuser cover. Anyone thinking they could light themselves as a blog with this will struggle and should look elsewhere (unless I’m really dark conditions) The light is made from plastic not like my boling p1 which is an all Aluminum construction. Now the good news, the light is plastic as I said but well made polycarbonate plastic. Nothing creeks or moves. Forget the built in effects they’ve been done to death already. The app integration is where the magic is. ANY colour can be selected from your phone from a colour wheel. Like a colour in front of you and want to match it? Point your camera at it and boom, colour match.Battery life is good for its size around 2hr at full power and the power scales. Meaning 50% gets you 4hrs.No fan noise, no hot to the touch like my boling p1. Includes a nice little protective bag and diffuser rubber sleeve. Of excellent quality and is usb c powered so can allow battery banks to power/charge this light.Yes you can do both at once. Finally, the neodymium magnets 🧲 are very powerful and allow you to place the light on surfaces you never could before. It will be very safe.Overall, this is a great little light and I ended up grabbing a second one as they are great for accent light or gimbal light work for video.

A pocketable and flexible light source
A handy size and good for adding light of different levels and warmth to both still and video. I’ve used it most for conferencing. Like the ability to recharge wirelessly. Pretty easy to use but the default to warmth adjustment rather than brightness adjustment seems a bit odd. Not really used the app much but if you had several lights then I can see it would work well.

It's exspecive but great for those creative shots
The price is steep but we'll worth it for those more creative shots both film and photography

Great to have in the kit bag
Have been using this as a accent light for video interviews and has been really great, thinking of getting a set of four.
