Top of the world Ma..I mean Jeep.
First ,disregard the three very negative reviews they have nothing to do with this tent or the seller Backcountry which has over 11K reviews on Amazon and NO I did not receive anything from them (but if there reading this...lol)but I did talk to them on a shipping issue. They were easy to deal with and took care of business.I just returned from a two week plus trip that was colder and wetter than I anticipated..Nv,Ca,Or,Id,Mt,Wy,SD,Co,NM,Az....This tent took everything nature could throw at it ,40 mph winds ,pouring rain, snow and lightening...Not a single leak..I built my own rack for my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee ,I felt the OEM one was too flimsy and way tooooo expensive (over $500).I used 1/8 X 1 1/2 OD aluminum pipe and 3/8 aluminum plate and spread the weight over the entire bracket area (about 4ft) acted as a “sleeper” ,the roof of the Jeeps seem weak in a number of spots so I didnt want the weight concentrated on only four spots(see pics),it is now as stable as the vehicle under it...Very Stable...The setup is simple and fast ,after a few tries I had it under ten minutes,easy....I do use a two step ladder to make reaching the zipper, ladder strap and rain flaps rod install easier. But it isnt absolutely necessary. The inside has a very nice three inch memory foam pad, more than enough for my old bones and includes multiple pouches and screened and coverable openings around the whole tent, top included for star gazing ,with the rain fly removed, which is also very easy..You can leave bedding and pillow inside when you fold it up.The zippers all work without binding. There are even bungee cords inside to keep the sides sucked in when you fold it.I use a chain hoist ,hung from a tree to put it on my Jeep by my lonesome.I have minor complaints about the mounting but Im a notorious over-builder and will talk to Tepui before I change anything. If the ground isnt level you might have a problem but that goes for a ground tent too and forgetabout crap on the ground or creepy crawlies, this tent solves those issues.A very well thought out design and at present seems very durable. The auto top design now allows me to carry my gear inside the Jeep, before I had a roof top bag that was a pain in the butt every time I needed to dig something out of it.Im in love with this tent...

installed on a 2015 crossstrek
I bought this tent for my trip to Alaska for the 2020 season. I have tested it out a few times and this is what I have encountered. 1 if it's raining hard and you leave the rain fly down on all sides but where the door is it will leak in the corners opposite of the door side. if it's windy the rain fly can be very noisy. 2. The mattress was okay on night one but by night 2 I had pains in my shoulder and hip, I sleep on my side. 3. Get the condensation mat. 4. I purchased the insulator kit for it and when it was 10 degrees outside it stayed 40 degrees inside from just the heat put off from one person. I was able to sleep without getting cold at all with a flannel sheet and comforter. 5. It drys out quickly if there is a breeze. 6. It is easy to set up and put away once you do it a couple times. It take me around 2-3 mins.I will do another review after the summer season in Alaska.

YOU MAY RECEIVE USED/DAMAGED CRITICAL MOUNTING EQUIPMENT
Buyer beware!!I purchased this on December 19th. It is January 17th and I finally had my friend come over to help me install it on the bed racks on my truck.During the installation of the crossbars, I noticed a pretty noticable indentation where one of the nuts should be slid in place within the rail of the crossbar so that it would stay in place while you screw in the bolt from the other side.Knowing this 114 pound camper tent will be rocking back and forth on top of the bed of a truck, and paying the price that I did for this item one would think I would receive all new equipment.No.I did not.And I'm furious about it.One of the bed boards has a dent in it as well. This might have been from shipping since it is quite a heavy item so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on that.Unless the manufacturer would like to make good and send me one replacement crossbar, I will suggest over and over again that people avoid this seller and Page all together. If this was a $50 item are blue, I would let it go. But I do not want to ship this item back as I promised my six-year-old daughter we would go winter camping this weekend and the weekend after that.I've taken extra precautions to ensure the unit will remain stable during Transit, but I will demand a brand new, untouched, crossbar for this tent.I will add a picture shortly.Unacceptable for this amount of money.

Definitely buy this!!!! Here’s why!
This tent is freaking awesome!!!Pros:• Fits on stock crossbars for 2016 Subaru Outback• Very Lightweight• The blue color way is sweet• Easy set up• Affordable• comes with all hardware to install (1 standard wrench + 1 ratchet wrench)Cons:• Very hard to put into stock crossbars (Nothing to do with tent but the cross bars)• The size for 2 people is quite small, it’ll fit perfect for sleeping but not so much to hang out in

We love it!
My husband and I just spent three weeks on a road trip across the USA (Michigan to California and back), and we slept in the tent for more than half of it. We absolutely love how easy it is to set up and take down. The only thing we added was a foam topper, as the mattress provided can be a little too thin for an extended use, like ours. We were able to insert the foam topper into the zipped mattress cover, which was helpful.

Great buy!
This tent is awesome. Very easy set up and break down (5 minutes each). I am just over 6 feet tall and I just fit in it. My wife and I sleep in it and it is snug but we fit just fine. The bed could be a little more comfortable. I just bought a cheap foam topper and it’s much better. Definitely recommend this tent.

Great tent for the price
Awesome tent. Instructions that came with it were very clear and anything you missed was in the video that was provided. The material seems pretty sturdy. Slight wind noise but to be expected with a box on top of your car. Really made for a single person or a very close relationship. Definitely will recommend to my friends
